My Favorite Book of all time
I have already recommended this book to all my friends. I am reading it to my husband and am glad to have the opportunity to read it again. While reading it, you actually feel like you are living the story. It is clearly written, easily understandable and asks and answers so many of the questions we all have. The story is so well written that it is hard to put the book down and I resented being disturbed while reading it. It does not take long to read the book - part of that is because it is not a long book and the other part is because you can't put it down! I recommend this book to Everyone who enjoys a great read and who has an interest in the lives of Jesus and those who followed him and those who did not follow him. It is not a religious book, so to speak, but an informative, wonderful fact finding mission which will leave you with a stronger heart and a conviction to live a better life.

Another Great Og Mandino Book
I found "The Christ Commission" to be yet another great, page-turning read by Og Mandino. In fact, I have yet to find a book by this author that I haven't enjoyed to the fullest - and that doesn't happen very often. This book is about the journey of Mr. Lawrence - a well-known mystery/fiction writer who, during a stint on the Johnny Carson Show, shares with the public that he regretted that he was never able to finish the first book he ever started, a book he would have titled "The Christ Commission". It was to be a mystery book about the Resurrection of Christ - where a "Christ Commission" would be the "detectives" who would prove once and for all that this event really did take place. When pressed about why he, an incredible fiction writer, could never finish this book, he blurted out that it was because his research provided more evidence to the effect that it hadn't happened as the Christians believed - and now that he no longer believed in this "story", he couldn't bring himself to finish it.This caused a major disruption on the Johnny Carson show, and led to his words being repeated on every t.v. channel (we all know how that works - smile). This, in turn, led to an incident where a man, so inflamed by the authors words, began punching him - knocking him unconscious. However, when Mr. Lawrence awoke, he was no longer in Beverly Hills, he was in ancient Jerusalem. His wish from long ago had been granted - to be given a chance to be his own "Christ Commission", interviewing all of the people from that time who knew & were involved with Jesus, and to use this information to uncover the truth - once & for all. Will his interviews & experiences prove his current belief - that it was all a hoax to perpetuate the Christian religion, or will he be provided with the amazing proof necessary to change his beliefs?Overall, I found this to be a really interesting read - in fact, the pages seemed to turn themselves! I would highly recommend this book, as well as all of Mr. Mandino's works to those interested in Christian spiritual fiction.

Splendid!
I'm a new reader of Og Mandino and must say this book is wonderful, keeps the reader in suspense with great interviewing about Jesus to the followers whom knew him best. A real jewel for all God believing folks.

Wow! Just wow!
Honestly, I am sort of speechless. I just got done reading this for a 2nd time. The last time I read this book was about 20 years ago. Og Mandino takes you directly into Jesus’s time period. Personally, I am not much of a reader. Most books do not hold my interest, I have to force myself to read. Probably because of my ADHD. This book, had me excited to read it from start to finish! It really gets you thinking about everything that happened around Christ’s death. It really gets you thinking about the sacrifices he made and the sacrifices his disciples made, how genuinely scared they had to be and how honestly improbable Christ being a hoax is. Like many, I have a question my faith throughout the years but, this book really helps me cement my love and faith in Christ!

Fictional account, but still enjoyable
The Kindle version contains numerous typographical errors that should have been caught in edit. However, it's still an enjoyable book. I recommend it for new Christians or those that are still struggling with that last step of faith. It's a work of fiction, obviously, not a logical argument as presented in "The Case For Christ" (highly recommend that one), but it's still a good read and it helped me in my journey when it began 25 years ago. The reader should note that the author fills in details with conjecture and a reliance on non-canonical gospel accounts, but the real value is that the book offers plausible explanations in an enjoyable way, and leaves the reader with a desire to seek more information. I'd recommend a new Christian reads this book first, and then "The Case For Christ".

A must to read for anyone
I read this book a good 29 years ago. I was so inspired by it that I studied and completed my degree in theology. Reading it again after so many years was as inspirational and fulfilling as the first time. I still have that hard copy that I read many years ago and will always consider it one of my most treasured books.

exceptional
I enjoyed the thrilling time travel adventure of the historian and author back six years after Christ’s resurrection. The tale added admiration for those who died defending Christ.
