Fortitude: Season 3 [Blu-ray]

FORTITUDE SERIES 1 to 3 DVD
I can't think of a series with quite so much gore and unpleasantness (though I am sure one or two must exist!!). Series One was full of mystery as well as gore, and some splendid horrors and actings from a multi national cast. Series two was almost as good, but series 3, like so many other series, seemed to have run out of ideas, or, knowing they (the writers) had to finish it off in 4 episodes, they tended to hurry it up. I still think the whole is a very worthwhile different kind of viewing experience. The locations are spectacular. The acting is first rate, and many reviewers find the final series just as good, but...it is/was expensive. I recomend it with reservations due to the, to my mind, gratuitous gore, but otherwise....experience something new in TV land!!

Much ado about nothing
Very dissapointed with Series 3. Series 1 is 569 mins, Series 2 is 454 mins and series 3 is 190 mins i.e. 4 episodes. As another reviewer pointed out much of this time is spent on Michael Lennox, now the town drunk, becoming involved with Elsa who needs contant top ups of cerebral fluid to keep her looking young cue more people dying. I can only assume the producers ran out of money because some of the car scenes are clearly done in a studio with projected scenery in the background. They should of brought everything to a conclusion at the end of series 2 had they done so I would give the series 5 stars.

Should have stopped at Season 2
Have just finished watching the third season of Fortitude. Really enjoyed the first season. The second season started showing signs that the writers had run out of ideas and some of the story line was bordering on the bizarre. Season Three just proved this! If there was ever a story line that ran out of ideas and just reached at anything to end the series here we have it. I think the fact that there were only 4 episodes supports this. What started out as a great idea and great first season just evolved into a farce. I would not recommend this series as it was totally frustrating to have such a rubbish end.

The third, concluding part of the Fortitude trilogy
The last four episodes of Fortitude, which overall, concludes things down nicely, with just a couple of 'who if' type questions. Picture and sound quality were excellent, in keeping with the blu-ray discs covering series one and two. Recommended, proving that you've watched the first two series.

KNICKER GRIPPING
BRILLIANT! I thoroughly enjoyed series one and two and could not wait to rush to order the final series 3. Great acting. Creepy. Stange characters. Amazing scenery. Impressed. I will say no more so as not to accidentally spoil the finale.

Jumbled & erratic
A bunch of plot points thrown together with no overall arc or meaningful development. Not even any real resolution of the earlier storylines.
