The Unbearable Lightness of Being - in Denmark.
Yet another great tale spun by Mr Adler-Olsen! This one continues in his style of complex storylines that move backward and forward in time plus have a number of interesting characters in the main tale that are fully fleshed out + the continuing saga of Carl and gang whose members we get to know and love more and more with each story .... and we see Carl softening up a bit more? This tale was expertly crafted and keeps the reader thinking that the resolution is figured out, until there is a twist, and then another twist and another - all of which have been hinted at in the early part to result in a most satisfying 'surprise' ending. There was again some of the darkness of humanity again in this one, yet the balance with the positive and light side of our nature balances this tale to keep it from being oppressive. Masterfully woven psychology, drama, pathos and hubris.I was highly satisfied to the very last word, and when I closed the book, I sighed with relief and pleasure. A most highly recommended home-run read!

Good Book, I really enjoyed it
Good Book, I really enjoyed it. I've read the whole series and can't wait for the next one. The characters are great and well developed and the detectives thoughts on what his country has turned into remind me of me thinking about the changes in this country. Its reads well, nice and steady and doesn't drop the main character's thoughts along the way but finishes them up on the way to the climax and then ending of the story. Great read for those who, like me, don't particularly like the American detective books which seem to be full of a lot of un-necessary violence. Not to say there isn't violence just that its toned down and manageable for people like me who like the story but not necessarily the violence that can go with detective books and detective work.

Love Mr Olsen’s novels
Love Mr Olsen’s novels. He was recommended by a passenger on a cruise we were taking, she was from Denmark and raved about him. She was right, excellent writer. Now my family is reading his books as well as my friends.

Hot Pursuit in Denmark
Very enjoyable - fast-paced, parallel story lines, disparate characters all converging to make for unexpected endings. Plus the interwoven development of the regular character and their trajectory. Everything a thriller fan could want.

Story a little contrived.
The story ran a little wild at times. Not as good as his previous books, but still a good read.
