Light Coverage
This is much lighter coverage compared to the "filler/primer" product. Id say about 20% less coverage/ aid in filling. Sand easily and dries nice and quick too! If you hope for something to be fully black, then you'll need about 2 light coats and then 1 heavier coat. You'll go through a lot idf you hope to get full coverage in color. This is meant for very light scrathes maybe somthing over a 800 grit

First step in a great paint job
I like to build scale model cars. In every build there comes a point where you paint your car. A good primer is the first step toward a good paint job. The Dupli-Color Sandable Primer is made for full-size cars but is excellent on scale models as well. It fills in previous sanding marks and then is sandable itself. Tamiya primer is considered by many to be the standard of the industry, but it only comes in a 6 oz. can at an average price of $12. The Dupli-Color Sandable Primer comes in a 12 oz. can and is $10.99. Twice as much for a dollar less. Sounds like win -- win to me.

works like expected
I used this as an under spray for carbon fiber overlay onto fiberglass, and it worked well....the reason I used a primer and not "paint" is because primers come out more "dry" and it gave a pretty good surface for the CF to stick to well.

Works great for prepping miniatures and rigid artwork
Works great on plastic, resin, wood and pewter and sprays thinly enough that I use it on miniatures ranging from 1/9 scale to the tiny 1/64th scales, which puts my smaller sculptures at about the size of a coin. So long as you keep it to about 2-3 thin coats, this primer will preserve detail at that scale, which I found pleasantly surprising from a primer product that wasn’t intentionally designed for miniature painting projects. The rust is my favorite for pewter minis as it has a stronger grip on pewter and so far hasn’t scratched. Rust also offers the best tooth for airbrush acrylics and for hand painting oils (the hot rod grey also offers the same tooth if you don’t want a red base to paint on). I also use these primers on cradled wood panels for quickly achieving colored grounds for acrylic and oil paintings. It gets along well with Testors Dullcoat sealer and Winsor and Newton Professional Picture Varnishes. If you filled seems or imperfections with Bondo, you’ll likely need to spray additional layers over those areas to fully coat the Bondo and give a consistent ground for your paint, otherwise you may see the paint react to the Bondo. White primer will need more layers yet, both for consistency and to build enough opacity to cover the red of Bondo.
