Poor battery life, can’t use rechargeable batteries
The battery life on this light is atrocious. I haven’t directly measured the time, but I’ve had to replace the batteries three times so far in light usage of only a few minutes at a time. The little bulb does not appear to be an LED, and it seems to be quite power hungry. Also, the battery case has multiple design issues. It doesn’t clip firmly onto the visor frame, so it falls off if the visor is not kept upright. And, unlike most devices that use batteries, it uses coil springs on both the positive and negative terminals. This means that it is incompatible with my Eneloop rechargeable batteries, which are conductive on the positive terminal only at the tip. The spring goes right around that tip and rests on the plastic, so the light doesn’t work.I would not buy it again, and I would not recommend it.

Invaluable accessory for Donegan Opti-Visor. A "used" item wit no signs of use, other than a staple being removed from clamshell
Appears, and works as new. The only sign of this being a "used" item, was that the clamshell package had been opened, which was only sealed with a single staple in the first place. A GRAND bargain. This accessory is invaluable for using with the Donegan Opti-Visor. It gives good light for close work.

Visor Light that leaves you in the dark.
Purchased for use with the OptiVISOR several years ago. I am not a fan!Unless you lock you head in a vise, the beam is never where you want it. Every time you remove the visor the battery case falls off the headband. The light beam is so narrow & weak, that it is in effective. Light on the head might be great for a miner, but, a fixed light on the surface with the object is best for this kind if work.Skip this item.

OK, but not the best solution
It's interesting that this is the VisorLight by Donegan to be used on the Donegan OptiVisor, because it's not as good as some of the third party alternatives which often cost less. The battery compartment constantly pops open and the batteries lose connection or fall out. The visor clip is loose and moves around. I've had to tape the visor clip and battery case closed with tape. The lens needs to be twisted to turn the lamp on an off. If it's to loose, the lens cap can fall off, and if it's too tight the lamps may not be turned off and will drain the batteries. A switch would be a far better alternative. As far as the light source, it does provide good direct and bright lighting. Overall, the design is poor and doesn't appear that there was much thought went into the creation of the product.

Great product, but needs improvement
I purchased this unit along with a Donegal OptiVisor. The light works great for the kind of work I use it for, which is component level replacement on PCBs. The beam is very bright, and concentrated on the specific area where I'm working. Since the lamp pivots, I don't seem to have any problem focusing the light where it needs to be. The battery pack is not as heavy as one would expect either. The only flaws with the unit are the battery pack. As one other reviewer wrote, using the springs inside the battery pack for both the positive and negative side of the battery is not the best design. My lamp functioned well out of the box, but expect it to fail prematurely because of this design. The other fault with this unit is the mounting clip used for the battery holder. If it were a fraction shorter in length, it would fit on the OptiVisor more snugly. The current clip allows the battery pack to slide at times. Another addition to this unit, which would make it a little nicer, would be an on / off switch on the battery pack. You currently have to turn the lamp lens to turn the unit off, which is similar to a mini MagLite. Although, this piece is not built nearly as durable as a mini MagLite. All in all, the pluses outweigh the minuses for this piece. A couple little changes, and it would make it an excellent piece for the price.

Review oif LT-06 light
The battery container is a tad flimsy. Keeps popping open. This is on both units that were purchased. Otherwise the light is very handy

Low Quality Junk
I tried to like it. I wanted to like the Donegan LT-06 VisorLIGHT. However, it has a sloppy and loose fit on the visor. It is not very bright and even falls off the visor. For the money spent I expected a lot better quality. Buyer beware.
