Adam has a heart of gold & if the NHS didn’t fail him he would still be an excellent & deeply compassionate physician. It breaks my heart because patients desperately need doctors like him. Before reading this I had no idea how bad life was for doctors in the UK. (I’m from the USA)I hope his memoir will lead to change for the sake of all: both the doctors in training and the patients whose lives depend on them.

This is a fantastic book! The author writes from his viewpoint of being in the medical profession in England. Doctors are treated different overseas than they are here (from what I have been told), so it is refreshing to gain insight to another countries medical environment. There are some laughs and some moments you feel very sad foe the situation. That is an amazing task for such a short 100 page book, but it is masterfully done in this text.

Really enjoyed this book.Easy and quick to read. Funny and light but with a hard hitting point. I’m an RN and can have experienced, first hand, over worked and over tired physicians and it’s a shame that it is like that. We need change.

I loved everything about this quick read! It reminded me of my time as a CNA working in the nursing home and hospital. Some days you will have good days and other days you will endure the bad. The job was rewarding but it surely takes a toll on you. I enjoyed reading the stories Adam shared. They brought me joy. If you are looking for something quick to get you back into the habit of reading or something light and hearty, I would recommend.

Well, it's helped me understand why a cousin doesn't want to be a doctor like the rest of his relatives close to him. He even warned my sis about it.This is a tough profession. That's coming from an IT engineer who has flashbacks of meanie bullies I've run into while working.

Boring.

Reminded me of The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole when I first started it. Loved the humour and could tell it was his way of dealing with the daily stress. Sad ending and eye opening into how tough life actually is working in a hospital. They basically have no life, can’t make plans and don’t get paid near enough.I’ve lost faith in our medical system over the years as the focus has gone from health to money for the fat cats and it’s all very sad. These doctors choose a career to help people and just get treated like garbage in return with ridiculous long hours and no life. Still a great, quick read. I finished it in a few hours 🤣
