Decent value, but has a coating on the blade and the first one came damaged on the very tip so had to reorder. This is the only Z Saw I have that has a coating on the blade. Not sure if I will like the coating long-term, but the price more than makes up for it so I'm giving it 4 stars. I'd give it 5 stars if it didn't have the coating and matched my other Z Saws better.

Ripping by hand is not something I normally do, but when you have a saw like this, those small joinery rips are enjoyable. No need to move to the bandsaw. I thought the binding on the handle could have been better quality.. Also, I hang my saws for storage and there was nothing in the design to facilitate that (simple shop fix, but trying to share).

I feel like it's a little harder to get started due to the thin kerf + big ripping teeth + light weight, knife walls help. Tracks well when underway though. No complaints.

This is a great saw- very narrow kerf, wickedly sharp and cuts like a demon. This is not actually a full rip blade, it's a combo. It will rip, it's just a bit slow at it. If you need to make long or lots of rips, there are better configured blades. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat.

This saw is very well made and cuts beautifully. Will be buying another and looking at the other offerings from the company.

I really prefer this style saw over a traditional Ryoba. The blade feels more secure and produces a cleaner cut. Plus you can use it with a saw guide if need be without fear of damaging your saw.

It takes practice to make a square cut quickly, but once you get it, this saw is awesome.

We have used this saw on multiple occasions and it works perfectly. A must have saw for any carpenter.

This works brilliantly but does need a different technique which takes time. It rip cuts very finely. Obviously it's a Japanese style saw so much more flexible to a western saw. I've used it to rip chestnut sleepers!

Found they struggle a bit ripping hard wood.
