Works really well
As a keen year round cyclist one of the downsides is filthy bikes and drivetrains. I have tried various strategies of cleaning frequency and methods but the bottom line is that if you don't clean chains and cassettes thoroughly during the winter the wear rate is unacceptable. Initially I used a paintbrush, white spirit and an old baking tray but this was labour intensive, stunk of fumes and left me with dirty solvents to dispose off. About 2 years ago I bough a parts washer and used a water based de-greaser which was much better as I could leave the parts under the flow whilst doing other things but I still had to brush / agitate the parts at the end to get the really sticky grease off Having seen on YouTube people using ultra sonic cleaners to great effect I decided to get one. I got the 15L one so it would take a cycle chainset in without issue. So far I have used it for chains and cassettes with good results once I sorted out the better settings. What I found has worked well was a water / water-based degreaser mix (about 75/25 ratio) at 40-45 Deg C and for about 20-30 minutes. This has given good results Using just water for me (cold or at 40 Deg C) really did nothing and this mix with degreaser made a big difference. Also even with degreaser I got a lot better results when it was at around 45 Deg C The good thing is that you can just put in in and leave it running. I have still needed to give a bit of a wipe / brush on small areas at the end where the dirt is very ingrained - I could put it through another cycle and it would probably remove everything As others have said its quite noisy, but this is inherent - it has a speaker excites a container that acts as a loud speaker. Heating the fluid takes some time but it is only a 300W or so heater. I have also not filled mine much more then deep enough to cover the components I have cleaned so far which is about 5L. So heating a full 15L tank would take a long time. As others have said in this case filling it with water from a warm kettle would help, or just turning it on for 30-40 minutes before starting I fitted a hose tail to the tap so I can drain the fluid back into a container and reuse the fluid. Its good to see a lot of gritty sediment in the bottom of the container after use as it shows its working. I wipe this out with a rag I am not sure about longevity - there are a few reviews of people using it a few times and it being broken - let's hope they are anomalies. Bought mine when it had a discount code applied that made it a bit better value for money Very pleased with it so far

Good sized tank with good cleaning ability
I have used a few of these cleaners, and I found this one to be the most practical size. Its large enough to clean most of the tools and circuit boards that I use it for, but no so big that the tank takes for ever to heat up. I have had really good results cleaning garage tools (using the correct solvent of course). The tools come up like new, and all the greasy marks just disappear. Very easy to use and clean.

Works as Expected
Needed to clean an old carburettor so it could be dismantled and rebuilt. The ultrasonic cleaner did an extremely good job and removed oil/dirt/grime. I used cleaning fluid, 40'C temp and 3 six minute cycles. My only complaint is the in built heater is weak and very slow to heat the fluid. You're far better using a kettle to heat the water and add the fluid than using the heater.

quiet in operation
Excellent bit of kit, loads of room, comes with a drain attachment to let you store the cleaning solution in a seperate container, temp control a but erratic but quiet in operation

Useful and Multipractic!!!
Always wanted one or thought I needed one (but didn’t want to afford one). Now I have it has come in handy indeed. Initially it can look to be quite expensive to run but after a YouTube video found that you can be a lot more flexible with it. I now clean my motorcycle parts using petrol but in either a sealed glass pickle jar and just float it in the tank filled with distilled water. Doing this means I can reuse the water many times over as the water never gets dirty and even the petrol can be strained and reused more than once. (No need to use the heat function when using petrol I’d say!!!) At the price it’s a great deal and I know it will be used and useful.

You can fit 4 carbs off a 9r without separating them
It really does clean them up but using the special fluid sold separately is a good shout too.

Large size
Great item. I’ve only used it a few times so far to clean some PcB’s the size is pretty big it’s wide and long as opposed to deep like some. The cage does limit the size a little bit but not much

Works well, easy to use
Many people have said it is loud. Well, duh, it is a SONICation bath! It is no louder than any I've used. Mine is in a separate room in my shop. I wear ear protection when I'm near it. That is more for comfort than necessity. It is not that it is loud, but it is an irritating sound. That is all normal though. It does a great job cleaning tools and clock mechanisms. I was surprised that not only is dirt removed, but the brass seems polished! I love it. The drain fitting was easy to get a threaded barb from the Home Depot. Good tool.

1-Month of Continous Use And Doing Well So Far!
We are using this for cleaning Musical Instrument parts such as Silver Plated Brass Mouthpieces, Plastic & Hard Rubber Woodwind Mouthpieces, Silver Plated and/or Lacquer coated Brass Musical Instrument parts. The unit arrived quickly and was packed adequately. Set-up was quick and easy. We added a brass fitting to the drain to attach a clear vinyl drain hose since this unit is being used on a counter top. This is our findings after using it for a month about a few hours each day. The settings for the temperature are in Celsius so many will have to convert temperature accordingly. It does take a lot of time (30+ minutes), to heat up the solution (40 C), so plan accordingly if your cleaning requires heat. Conversely, if you are doing several batches of cleaning, be careful about the unit going over the set temperature, (according to the read out on the panel). We've turned it off in between uses to avoid burning out the heating element. The capacity is about 2-1/2 gallons but depending on the volume of the items you are cleaning, you don't need to fill it completely. A benefit I didn't realize with the shape of the tank is when a cleaning cycle is finished, you can pull the basket up and turn it 90 degrees and place it on the ledge to allow all the cleaning fluid to drain out before rinsing off the items. The cleaning power of this unit seems to be adequate for general use. Longer or repeated cleaning periods may be necessary for some items. It is dependent upon the severity of the items to be cleaned and what solution you use. We are going after calcified deposits inside brass tubes and have experimented with a few different solutions. So far, our best results have been with a mix of White Vinegar, Baking Soda and Sea Salt. Another good cleaning solution is a dilution of Simple Green HD and Dawn Ultra Dish Detergent. Both of these have worked well being heated between 35-45 degrees Celsius at 10-15 cleaning times. While some reviews complained about the noise level, being that this is used in a shop area, we did not find it overly loud. With the lid on, the sound was slightly lower and it helps retain the heat inside to aid in the cleaning. You will not be able to have a conversation on a phone near it as the Ultrasonic waves cancels out most microphones but standing and few feet away will solve this. Draining the unit and changing fluid. As previously mentioned, we added a brass hose fitting and a large clear vinyl tube to drain into a 3 gallon bucket. The unit will have to be tilted towards the drain to remove all the fluid. A towel to wipe down the tank clean and an occasional use of a Stainless Steel Cleaner / Polish like Sprayway helps keep everything neat and water spot free. (We have HARD Water) Lastly, the issue about the power switch on the backside of the unit. It is a minor inconvenience but somewhat of a safety as well. It forces you to keep the immediate area around the unit clear, which helps with the airflow ventilation around the unit. (It does get warm). Also, if you spill fluid while removing the basket or items you are cleaning, you are less likely to spill on the backside since you are pulling items towards you in the front. General Impression is that we are pleased with the unit and hope that it will last for a while. For the size of the unit, it will clean most items well but could use more powerful transducers to create stronger cavitation bubbles and heat up quicker. For the price, it is hard to beat and should serve the average user well.
