   This is smaller than the other trap so getting it down the attic stairs was easier. I placed a towel over the trap to settle him down and he stopped freaking out. I really like the all metal top. It kept the squirrel's claws away from my hand when grabbing the handle. The trap rod was/is a little dicey getting it to stay and I will maybe try filing the side a little like another reviewer advised.

I gave this 3 stars because I did manage to catch one squirrel with it but have one more to catch. Unfortunately the black plastic pieces that hold the door in place broke after one use. Getting the trap to stay set is a little difficult but does hold the animal once it is trapped.

This trap looks good BUT..... the mechanism that releases the door relies on friction to keep the door open and even in the slightest breeze the door drops making the trap useless. I have far more success with a bucket of water for mice and packrats. I bought this to trap ground squirrels but it is useless. Pile of JUNK. Get something else.
