A decent 3rd party controller for the original Xbox, not bad for around $12!
The original Xbox by Microsoft is somewhat of a relic nowadays. That being said, it is virtually impossible to find new or like new official Microsoft brand controllers for the original Xbox. I no longer have any working controllers for the system, so I decided to roll the dice on this 3rd party controller from Hydra Performance. It comes in at a budget price point at around $12, so I didn't feel that nervous with buying it. The controller actually feels solid in your hands, and the thumb sticks are actually pretty solid. Unfortunately, the buttons and shoulder triggers are definitely stiff and lack the precision response that the official controllers are known for. You get what you pay for as it is a really cheap controller, however, it will hold up just fine playing most games, and it allows you to relive that nostalgic feeling of playing Microsoft's first ever game console. I actually bought this so I could play Otogi 1 & 2, as the original Xbox is the only place you can play these amazing games. That alone makes this controller a good buy for me.

Good, But Could Be Better...
Well it works, so I gotta give it that. Seems to be very well built, the only draw back is the right thumb stick has a HUGE dead zone. Like a good 1/4 inch. For less tech savvy people, dead zone is an area which the analog stick will move before anything actually happens in game. So if your stick has a 1/4 inch dead zone & you're playing Call of Dudes, you have to move the stick a whole 1/4 inch before you character will actually turn. May not seem that bad, but it makes twitch reflexes impossible.Overall though, it's a good controller. Great for reliving some old games, just not for old FPS...

A reasonable after-market controller
Build construction feels sturdy, and the buttons, handling, and feel of the controller is close enough to the genuine article. Taking one star off because the cable length is quite short, at maybe 6 feet, though you'll be lucky to find a third-party controller on the market that's got a longer cord. Altogether a great buy. Hail Hydra!

Not exceptional, but you can't beat the price.
This controller works surprisingly well. I was not expecting much; but it has filled the intended role nicely. It has a bit of slack in the sticks, but that's to be expected from el-cheapos.I'd gladly give it 4 stars if the cord was just 6 or 8 inches (preferably a foot) longer, but I make it work. If you're low on cash, but need a controller to kick it old school; this is the way to go.

Good 3rd party controller.
Works like the original at a fraction of the price. Has no break-away connector so you cannot extend the wire like an original controller. (-1 star)

Wire is so short bruh. doesn't even have a break away cable to put an extention in. works well though if you're the kind of person that likes sitting in the front row of movie theatres

Works good on original xbox
These controllers work nicely with the original xbox console, all the buttons, sticks and dpad seem to respond and work good. No problems and very please with them. If you need a controller for the original xbox "not the 360 or One those are different" then this is worth getting. Still works good in 2022 - Elroy Lamont

Cheap, but works.
Doesn't have rumble. Thumbsticks are touchy. Doesn't seem like there is a deadzone. Other than that, they're not that bad.
