flimsy
Its not a hard plastic like most slow mo feeders are which makes it less affective at slowing fast eaters. food also sticks to the material more than with harder plastics. its easy to wash but not very affective.

It worked for me!
It works! Like another reviewer, I placed this across the bottom of the metal bowl I have always used for dog food. None of the similar products hold the amount of food that I give my dog, so I didn't think I would be happy with any of them. My dog, a large pit mix, has a full bowl all the time that he mostly ignores throughout the day. Then, when the family sits down for dinner, he sucks down a full bowl in just a few moments and proceeds to regurgitate half of it right there next to the our dinner table. So I had to try something. With this mat laying across the bottom of his bowl (it's very flexible), he eats the top half as fast as he can, then the second half he has to work at a little bit. It's been two weeks or so and it seems that this little mat has solved the problem! I only took away one star because, for me, it won't work without a bowl.

Worst Supper Dish Ever. Dont Allow Humans to Buy it.
This is Lightning. I am a 16 year old Fierce Tiger. The Woman said that means basic Tabby cat, whatever. So yesterday these losers tried giving me my breakfast in this, the Worst Supper Dish on Earth, because they say that I am "round". Pfffft. Don't they have mirrors? So let me tell you other cats the secret of the "puzzle". I boycotted eating just the dry food. Not my can, I'm not an idiot. And to make sure that they got the message, I walked around the house for hours meowing loudly proclaiming my imminent demise at the top of my lungs. (Stopping frequently to hydrate myself at my fountain) I only stopped this for a few minutes to alert them to the horrible danger of the UPS guy coming to the door IN A HAT, such rudeness, and I scared him away by my fierce growling and hissing. Like I said, Fierce Tiger. Anyway, of course my plan solved their stupid "puzzle" food dish, and they put my food back in my favorite old supper dish very quickly. Silly Lowly Humans, thinking that they are allowed to make a decision like this. You are so lucky we put up with you. ~Lightning

Works but not for my fat ass cat
I purchased this for my obese cat, he eats too fast then waits for the other cats to be done with their food, eats theirs, and throws all the food up. I used this for his wet food this morning, and it started to work but he got too frustrated that he couldn’t shove the food down his throat like he normally does. I give him half a can in the morning and he almost ate all of it. He kept circling around it to get to the food like a vulture circles his prey, but for this fat boy it was a dry season. He soon gave up and went right back over to the other cats and scarfed theirs down. I’m currently waiting for the pile of vomit i must soon clean. I purchased the small for him, but it was actually too big and the things that stick up are too high for him. I think if you have a dog this will work, but if you have an obese food crazed cat who is lazy as anything, find something new.

Bad quality and dangerous for pets
It was destroyed in less than a day. The little silicon tabs are too thin and were bit through or just torn off the mat.The pieces can be very dangerous for pets. They could swallow and choke or just swallow small pieces while biting off big chunks, especially considering this is for feeding.DO NOT BUY! You'll be risking your pet's health and a very expensive vet visit.

Dachshund approved
I have three dachshund and a different feeder for each one. This is feeder I use with my standard dachshund/ jrt cross. She is a smart dog and will flip over other bowl type feeders over. This one stays flat the floor and she she must eat around the little upright pieces. It does slow her down even though they are soft; she must eat around them, they fold over and she needs to move her muzzle to get the food under those that fold. Also because they are soft it is easy on her muzzle. Food will slip out the sides, but as I used to just throw the food on the floor to slow them down, this doesn't bother me. It is easy to clean and doesn't hurt if you accidentally step on it.I have not used this feeder with my miniature dachshunds just because it has become Zoe's bowl, but I think it would work just as well with them. They have smaller muzzles, but would still slow them down.

Great for slowing down a too-fast eating cat w/his wet food
It's weird but this little product really helped us out. We have four cats and one kept eating his wet food so fast that sometimes he would vomit soon after. These little flexible nubs slow him down so much so no more vomiting, plus then the other alpha eater cat likes to lick out little leftover bits from it when cat #1 is done, thereby stopping cat #2's tendency to bully the slowest eater cat. It's also great that the nubs are flexible and soft because cat #1 is not the smartest and he'd hurt himself if the nubs were hard just to get at his food. I thought this would be annoying to carry full of wet food but since it's totally flexible it's an easy one-hand carry if you just bend it a little, like a slice of NY pizza. Sometimes we hand wash it and sometimes we top-rack dishwasher clean it & both ways work fine.

HUGE disappointment all around.
I don't know if Amazon switched this out for a cheap generic since it didn't come with any packaging, but this item is HORRIBLE! First of all, it's very small, maybe 8" wide. Second, though it says it's made of tough rubber, it's not. As soon as I took it out of the box, I knew my dog, or any dog really, could chew threw it in a matter of minutes. I put it on the floor and sprinkled some kibble in it. At first she wasn't too interested, so I left the room. When I came back the toy was in the other room in pieces. I assume she started eating the kibble, then grabbed a piece of the mat, picked it up dumping all of the food on the floor and then ate the mat. I'm finding bits of green rubber all over my family room. $10 was way over priced for this item. I expected the rubber to be much thicker and denser. I have a black lab mix who is 6 months old. She now has all of her adult teeth so she's chewing much less than she was, but she does chew. I suspect, no more than any other dog. I wish I could properly convey how thin this rubber is. Save yourself your money and buy something else. Anything would be better than this. Oh, and it took abut 3 weeks to arrive. HUGE disappointment all around.
