White-Rodgers50M56U-843 Integrated Furnace Controls Universal Replacement

Works great. I installed it tonight and it is working like a charm. Replaced the 50A65-476 on a Trane XR80. Installation was pretty straight forward. Shut off electricity. Shut off gas. Label all wires before disconnecting from the old controller. Remove wires. Remove old board. Mount new board. Connect wires not on wiring harness. The only issue here is that the spades on the side marked 'line neutral' do not have labels for each spade. Either I figured it out correctly, or it does not really matter which one you use. I suspect the latter. Once that is done, then I connected the 4 pin connector to the board. Nothing changed there. As for the 12 pin wiring harness, you just pick the correct adapter. (There is a x-ref sheet.) Find the old model board, and find the harness adapter. The adapters are included in the kit. In my case, there was a blue wire hanging off the adapter with a female connector on it. I learned that was supposed to connect to the flame sensor probe connection on the board. Unfortunately, I learned to late. I cut the FS line off the old harness and connected a spade connector to it. I didn't need to do that. The whole process took me 2 hours. I imagine it would take a pro about 20 minutes. My previous experience is none. I have built PCs and used to install alarm systems at one time. If you can read directions and take your time to carefully label everything, I think most people can do it. One negative, the kit did not come with printed instructions. They are available on-line. A local HVAC 'professional' quoted me $650 to replace the board with no guarantee. I saved $535 by doing it myself. That is awesome!!

Our furnace computer failed on us in the winter on February 05 2023. The computer we had was no longer available due to old outdated hardware. We purchased this universal unit to replace our old outdated computer. It worked outstanding! I installed it myself. Would of paid extra for overnight express shipping but unfortunately the seller doesn’t offer it. We are very satisfied with this! It’s nearly a month now without any issues. Hopefully it lasts a long time. No complaints!

Ordered the 50M56U-843 White-Rodgers Universal Integrated Controller to replace a 50A50-571 White-Rogers and had no problems. It was brand new and arrived a day earlier than expected. I had to mount the new controller with the self-tapping screws and use one neutral wire extender, both that came with the unit. I labeled all the wires before making the switch. If you are replacing the same controller, the pictures should help. I had a Trane so I needed to install the jumper. God Bless you in your endeavors.

The control board on my furnace went out, and this universal control board fixed it. It is a little difficult to figure out if you need the adapter wires, but if you understand how a furnace works, it was not too bad.

Works fine, but required splicing for my application replacing a White Rodgers 83M00 control board. Not a big deal, but I needed to determine which leads on my furnace needed to be connected to the specific wires on the plug. This board is a pseudo-2 stage board, but not due to a 2 stage thermostat making the call for high/low heat as there is no W2 connection for a 2 stage thermostat. It simply will run your furcnace's 2 stage gas valve on timed intervals as needed to either maintain a temp or get the temp up quickly.

Bought this unit years ago, and am having to replace it again because of water damage.Be careful as the photo is of a white unit (as of 8/18/2019) but what was shipped was black and they are NOT pin for pin compatible.You will have to re-cable in some cases if you change from the while model of he unit to the newer black model.They are otherwise identical it seems. Plus, the package comes with a hot surface igniter, so don't be fooled by Amazon into thinking you need to buy one separately.

This was to replace a obsoleat one, the wireing instruction could have been more expliced to the one it is to replace.I wouldn't have had to call in the HVAC guy, to be sure I had it right. It works the air, now if it works the heat and the humidifier in the heating season, the I'll upgrade my rateing to "Love IT", cause I sure saved a lota money.

Take not that if you're replacing the WHITE 50M56U-843 controller with the newer BLACK versionyou need to switch the main harness connector on some furnaces like AMANA/GOODMAN. Usingthe older harness resulted in the gas valve not opening.

Only took a few minutes to install. Hardest part was the ignitor

Great universal control board. Works perfect. End of flakey gas furnace. The igniter is also great. I'm really glad I replaced it as well. The old one was close to failing as well.
