I have a huge phone (Huawei Ascend Mate II), so while I was really excited to try this magnetic mount out, I was skeptical about whether or not it would hold onto my gigantic phone. I've been using it for a solid week and am SO happy I got it! It's so much better than having my phone mounted via suction cup to my windshield...I use my phone constantly for navigation, and now I don't have to lean forward to make changes to my route or answer the phone or dismiss messages. Much safer for everyone on the road, not just me. 😜 As far as how secure the mount is, I have had zero issues. I cleaned my dash as instructed and when I stuck the flexible sticky part of the mount where I wanted it, I applied direct pressure (also as instructed) for about 45 seconds. I placed the magnet directly on the back of my phone and then put my phone case on, and I did not lose any magnetic strength doing so...my phone stays locked in place until I remove it! Because I want this thing to last forever, I will say I am somewhat careful about taking my phone off the mount - I don't just yank it off the magnet, but instead place one hand on the part of the mount stuck to the dash and then pull my phone off with my other hand. It takes a fraction of a second longer than just snatching it off with one hand, and makes me feel much better about the integrity of the part stuck to the dash. So happy with this purchase and am recommending it to everyone I know! 😀

It was easy to use and easy to mount. I’ve tried a few phone mounts and they all stuck into the vent unit and the magnet wasn’t strong enough to hold my iPhone X. There were times the mount itself would not stay on the vent. Or it wouldn’t hold the position I would need my phone to be in. I would make a slight turn while driving and it would fly into my lap or my other seat. I highly recommend this product, it works really well and isn’t in the way of anything. - sturdy - holds the position or angle you need it to - easy to use/mount - not in the way of the vent

I love this mount! It's perfect for holding my phone up in my car! The only issue I have is that it will not hold well when I have my thick case on my phone. It's a unicorn beetle case for the Note 8, and is rather thick. I have a slightly thinner case that holds well on the mount. I have resolved this issue by placing the smaller plate on the outside of my case as opposed to the plate on my phone. This still gets 5 stars because it's easy to install, easy to adjust, and holds very well with my other case! Just remember that if you have a thicker case, you may want to consider placement on the outside of the case.

I've used the older Scoshe magnetic mounts with success but I liked that this one has pivoting head and a stronger magnet for larger phones. It was nicely packaged and everything seemed very nice. The tightening nut seems to be a hard plastic with a soft rubbery coating but it tightens nice and securely. I appreciate the inclusion of two faceplates and while the silver is nice, I much prefer the subtlety of the black. I'm weary of using adhesive products on my dash board and while you can see that it actually mostly fit into the single din tray, I decided to mount it on the passenger side dash facing the driver. Also, mounting it in the tray would block the majority of my head unit so I didn't want to block it. It went on ok but despite the bendable portions of the mount, my first attempt didn't go as well as I would have hoped. The curves of the dash caused part of the adhesive to not hold well. Since I wiped the dash down well with the alcohol swab provided, the adhesive lifted without too much of a problem and I reapplied it in a better position. It has held in the new position well and I have not been concerned about the fact that I removed it once and reapplied. I applied the metal plate to the back of my iPhone 7 plus case so it holds very well. I found that due to the positioning of the mount, it puts less stress on the adhesive to remove the phone from the mount from bottom to up as opposed to side to side. I imagine people will see similar results depending on how and where they mount this. While I so far trust the adhesive I wouldn't want to put unnecessary stress on the adhesive so I would warn against using it indelicately if it's been in the hot sun for a while. One thing I never really cared for about these mounts was that the rubber used would collect a lot of dust and lint and look messy. Since this mount comes with two removable faceplates, I cut a small piece of microfiber cloth and set it under the faceplate. The microfiber looks cleaner and nicer in my opinion and you can see for yourself in the pictures I posted. The one warning is that if you are using your magnetic plate under your case, the cloth may be too slick to hold onto your phone well. For my phone with the plate on the outside it holds great and actually is easier to turn into landscape easier without removing it from the mount. I like the mount but I have a hard time seeing twice the value here compared to the standard Scoshe mount at around $14. It is still a great mount that does what it is intended for but what I really appreciated about the original mounts was that they were reasonably priced for a great mount. In the end it holds strong to my dash and my phone and I appreciate the bonus removable face plate as well as the functional ball joint that allows for great positioning that holds extremely well. I docked one star just for the price but if the price doesn't bother you at all then consider this a 5 star mount that I can easily recommend.

Incredibly impressive magnetic phone mount. It's a lot smaller than I expected, but this isn't necessarily a bad thing. Adhesive backing sticks very solidly to surface, the bearing of the magnet is adjustable and holds very steadily, and the magnet itself is very satisfying. The attached magnetic pad works through phone cases (including a Lunecase, with confirmation from the Lunecase makers as well), and it is only a few millimeters thick so it will work with very snug phone cases (like my Lunecase). Included is a clear pad that has a tab that is designed for attaching the magnet pad to and is intended for easily removing the magnet pad - a nice gesture. There are also two styles of frame for the mount itself - a silver one and a black one, so you can choose which one looks better in your vehicle. Phone snaps into place and holds firmly, does not shake when vehicle is in motion.

At first I loved this, but after my raving review, the adhesion totally failed. I just didn't notice that it was already separated. The base has a very thin adhesive on it, but that didn't work at all. Once I added the 3m tape to the back of it, I got it to stick pretty well to the smooth surface of my car. Then the top began to separate almost immediately, and over the period of a few days completely fell of more than once. This was due to high temperatures in my car, but was begun at reasonable temperatures. The item is cheap enough that I don't want to return it, but now I have to buy more 3m tape, which will likely look a little funny, and scrape the preexisting thin tape off so that the new tape adheres to the plastic itself. I hope that fixes the problem, otherwise I'm going to have my husband drill a hole to make it work. Pros - easy to install and powerful magnet that works through my phone case. Cons - can't use it because the tape doesn't hold to my car.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Installed on my 2018 GTI on the glass of the infotainment system in the lower left corner. Phone blocks only a small portion of stereo. Perfect in every way. I love the minimalist approach with it's clean and modern look. I personally dislike the vent clip option as it blocks valuable air flow in summer and can't be used in winter as the heat will kill your phone. This is ideal. I'm not worried about future removal as there are plenty of YouTube how-to's that explain how to get these things off of all dash surfaces. Follow the instructions on application (clean surface). Yes, it's possible that in high heat with a vertical install on a dash, this may eventually fall off. If you're worried about that, a sunshade in the windshield would go a long way to cut down on direct exposure.

I gave this item 3 out of 5 stars because the first one we bought didn't adhere to the dash as the others we have purchased did. It ended up detaching after the second day. We've purchased 3 of these mounts before, so we know how important it is to clean the surface with alcohol prior to attaching the mount, firmly pressing the mount for several minutes to attach, and to not use the mount for 24 hours while it sets. These instructions are important if you want your mount to set correctly. I love these mounts. I have one in my Honda and my husband has one in his Mazda. We both have the magnets on our iPhones, so when we hop in either one of our cars we don't have to worry about holding our phones for navigation. The one thing I really like about this mount is that you can lock in place the angle of which your phone hangs at if you want. Also this mount is a lot more attractive looking than the last mount we purchased, not that it really matters what it looks like, but its an added benefit. Overall, I love the ease of applying my phone and disengaging my phone from the mount itself. I had been using a mount that was a hassle to release my phone from before, and with these I don't have that issue. You can purchase extra magnets for other drivers, or if you want to attach other electronics, on Amazon. I'm happy with Customer Service since they sent a replacement right away with no extra charge. Great company! Will update once I see if this mount lives up to the others we purchased.

After trying 4-5 useless plastic gizmos, found this item while searching on youtube, its perfect. I mount the foot vertically on the dash so I had to screw 2 little bolts but I have 2009 car so I didn't care, I just wanted a strong hold, have to say that I didn't even try with only the 3M adhesive. For the metal plate and the magnet part, its pretty strong. I'm very please with the result.

I was really struggling to find a phone mount that I felt didn't look out of place in my car and I'm so glad I found this one. There are definitely cheaper options but I am so impressed with this product that I believe it is worth every cent. Apart from looking great and blending in to my car, it has a super strong magnet and I haven't had any issues with my phone falling off or even slipping when connected to the mount, and I have very stiff suspension so I'm very impressed. I also really like that the metal plate that sits on the back of the phone isn't magnetic so I don't need to worry about sitting my phone with my wallet or anything along those lines. The metal plate is so slim and even though it is sat underneath my phone case the hold on the magnetic base is still so strong!

Comes off with a little tug - maybe it works on slick surfaces, but almost no car dash is slick.
