This tool can definitely chew up fabric, but if you do a small test strip and figure out what angles and pressure to use, it's an absolutely phenomenal lint roller. And yes, it does come smelling a but like varnish, but the smell goes away quickly once you have it out of the package. This is a great value to me because I will spend a small fortune on traditional adhesive lint rollers, whereas this is only 9 bucks.
