This is a latching relay providing your input voltage remains connected. So long as you are happy with the quiescent circuit it will work as described. I'm using it to take a 12v pulse from a numeric keypad switch which opens and closes magnetic locks and it's working well.

I needed this to replace an old one and this one looked like it would do the job. It works very well.

I used it to wire multiple switches to control the lighting in a large commercial shop with many entrances.

First: The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because the gauge of wire that fits the terminals is a bit small for my application however I'm sure that is by design to reduce the size of the whole device.Second: Some people have commented about it not being a "true" latching relay. That is not an entirely accurate statement. It just works differently than older types of latching relays to accomplish the same thing.Older styles of latching relays took a signal pulse to mechanically latch and unlatch a switch.On this relay your supply A1 and A2 power the relay and it is true that if those lose power the relay is no longer latched. However, If you are using the same power as a supply to A1/A2 as what you are switching then that wont matter. The relay will work when there is power for it to switch and not when there isn't. Then with its memory, when it has power again it will return to the state it was in before power loss. This accomplishes "Latching" just not the way some people are used to.There are some benefits to this operation depending on your application and your control system but that's a longer explanation than what should be in a review.If you are thinking, "but my switching signal voltage isn't the same as the voltage being switched" use an additional simple relay with it so you can you can use what ever voltage you want to pulse a contact that would act like a switch.In my application I needed to signal the latching relay with 24vdc. So I used a 24vdc dpdt (what i had available) and put it between A1 and S on the latching relay. Then when my system pulsed the 24vdc relay, the contact to S would close momentarily switching the latch. This also provided additional circuit voltage isolation which was a bonus for my application.Even with the additional 10$ relay, this is still more cost effective than other latching relays.

There wasn't enough info about the tech of this product. First it is not a true latching relay, it looses it's "latch" state with power loss, but does have memory so regains last state when re-powered up. Second, the control coil is pole sensitive, what I mean is when using 12V DC, you can only wire it as indicated in their diagram. I needed to use negative pole switching but could not. This means I must run a standard SPST 12 V relay to reverse the switching to this "latching" relay.

Works, many options availble

The product is sold / advertised as a Latching Relay - and it is not. A latching relay maintains its status even with power loss ( it only requires a pulse typically to change its state). This product does not maintain the relay status if main power is removed.We purchased this specifically due to requiring a true Latching Relay function / capability so disappointing that this will not work. They need to change the description on this product.The product will “remember “ it’s last state prior to loosing power (once power is restored it will go back to the state it was in prior to power removal). Other than the missing Latching feature the unit works per the listing so it would of been a 5 star item had it actually been a Latching relay as stated.
