No suction it is designed to be fitted in the cup holder, and you use the adjuster to tighten it in place. Fits really securely and is ideal for my needs.Update; Have to be careful when putting phone in/out cradle because the foam edge that hold the phone in place come away easily. Shame but still good overall

It is doing the job but when you try it at foul extension with a heavy phone it vibrates too much and make me worry about my phones camera, other than that I am fine with it

Excellent phone holder that sits firmly in a cupholder of any car

My car has a double cup holder so I bought this knowing I had plenty of room for it.The anchor mechanism to secure it in the cup holder was easy to use and did the job fairly well, but the extension to the cradle is a bit flimsy, resulting in the phone shaking about when I'm driving. I've dropped it to the lowest possible point to reduce the shake but that defeats the object of purchasing it. Don't think I'd get another one

So far so good. Purchased to use in my truck. It fits the cup holder well and holds the phone firmly in place. It does have some vibration but everything vibrates in the truck. This is a good solution and keeps the phone away from the air vents. I would recommend

Having tried a good array of air vent mount, adhesion mount and suction mount phone holders I decided to give this cup holder mounted version a try and I must say it is probably the best I have tried to date. For the price it is pretty good quality, sturdy, can accommodate a variety of positions and does the job expected of it. It is vibration free and not easily knocked, the biggest downside is that I have lost the use of the cupholder I use the most but c'est la vie. Unless you want to spend serious money for the likes of a RAM I would recommend this item.

The cup holder is a little farther back on my console but thought I would try this phone holder anyway. This is well built and works fine in my Nissan Rogue. It holds my phone securely and stays tight in the cup holder. Now my A/C vent is not blocked.

I'm using this in an E450 in box truck it works perfectly in the drink holders in the center console. Very secure with little to no vibration so it's reliable for navigation purposes. It comes with an extra set of pads for the adjustment barrel.

It was good, until it broke. The spouse was rotating it just a bit and the back locking nut for the swivel ball was tight, but not overly tight. It snapped.The holder itself was decent. Turn the locking nut on the base and the "fingers" inside the cup holder spread out holding the Phone holder in place. Our cup holder in our vehicle has little nubs to help hold cups in place so we couldn't get the angle for the arm exactly where we wanted it. It would be nice if that part swivels. The arm extension was fine, it could be a little bit longer since our cup holders and the gear shifter are inline with each other so when changing from Park to Drive, we had to watch our hands to not hit the phone holder. And the same issue when changing from Drive to Park.The part that actually holds the phone was big enough to hold Galaxy S22 Ultra and the S23 Ultra. It held it pretty securely.Overall a thumbs up, but the connection between the arm extension and the swivel ball could have more surface area so it won't break so easy.

The instructions are printed in almost microscopic text and very brief. They make sense now, once I figured out how to make everything work. I won't try to explain how I got the phone mount and the cup mount working. I'm not sure I can. I had to carefully push and pull, twist and turn until I got the phone secured in its mount, the phone mount secured on the arm and the whole thing secured in the cup holder. It works, and does so admirably so far. I have yet to venture out on the Oklahoman roads that desperately need attention to see how it holds up with all the bumps. But it looks good so far. I managed to position it so that I would be able to glance down at it to see road directions or change the music it's running, but I'm a little uneasy with having to look away from the windshield to do that. I have another device that sits on the dash and is weighted and doesn't require looking down, but it has its drawbacks, too. Wouldn't it be great to have a car with a windshield and other surfaces that would show everything around you, respond to spoken commands, and so forth. Warn of dangers. Oh well, this one looks like it will make my life on the road a little easier. Give it a try, if you are so disposed.
