The product is in two parts which comes apart. You have the pips in a protective fabric and the outer patterned cover. To heat them up in the microwave (I've never tried the oven way) you need to take them apart or the outer fabric smells like it might catch fire. It comes with instructions on heat levels I think. It's good and I use it both as a neck/knee/back warmer but I also use it as an alternative to a hot water bottle.

This heat pillow is quite small.Ideal for warming your hands or putting on your painful neck but not big enough to give overall warmth if you wanted it to replace a hot water bottle

Four stars just because when you heat it up it smells a bit. But it does what it says
