Although I cannot give you exact specs, the file transfer speed is very fast due to the USB 3.0 architecture. On my device, the cable fits very snug, and stays in when I put it there. I have used the OTG cable to transfer files from USB memory sticks, and a low power requirement external hard drive with no issues. If an external hard drive suddenly disconnects, or refuses to connect, the drive is probably drawing too much power, which means you will need to hook up external power to your hard drive.At this point I do not have anything negative to say.
