To my front seal off to clean thinking I could just put it back on. Ha. No.This tool is essential, and does it's job. Just make sure the seal is all the way on before you try to put the ring back on and it's super easy.

This is a must-have tool for a DYI installation for the door seal spring. I had to replace the drain pump on my washer. I did watch several videos on how to do this. Most of them suggested that you get this spring expansion tool. Once you get the hang of it, it worked well. Installing the spring is not hard, but you need to work slowly and fit the spring into the groove on the seal and then expand it with the tool to position the spring in place. I tried to take a video but it did not work out. Some pros do not use this, but for me it saved me time and made the job easier.

Great tool for making the spring seating so much easier. Refused to buy one of these forever but in hindsight should have bought one years ago. Really can’t beat it for the price and the ease it made of the repair.

I needed this to replace the rubber gasket on my washing machine. Someone recommended that I save some money and use a pair of pliers instead. I’m so glad I bought these as the plier route would have taken me hours. They slotted in perfectly into the tub springs I needed to remove, and replace. If you need a tool like this this pair does the trick.

Solid and well made. The only disadvantage is that although they do work, the span of these could be a bit bigger for a standard washer door seal, or else the groove at the plier tip (which is to hold the spring while you spread it) should be a bit deeper as it repeatedly slipped out. But it does work. Note that using expansion tools is a little counterintuitive at first as they are opposite in action to pliers (you squeeze to open), but fine once you get used to the action.

My wife and I repaired our LG front loader washer by replacing the bearings. Everything went smooth except, reinstalling the clamp around the door gasket.
