KMC Missing Link 7,8,9,10,11,12 Speed Silver/Gold (New Blue Packing) (10-Speed, 5.88mm, re-usable, Black)

One of these links, once it is installed, is great for removal and reinstalling a chain if you have a welded chain guard. I bought them to be able to install my road bike on a trainer and then later reinstall the back tire through the chain guard. But you really need to buy chain link pliers if you don't already have some. Needle nose pliers won't fit in the gaps to open or snap close the link. As the link wrench is a cheaply priced tool, they're a worthy investment.

FYI--You will receive a gold 10 speed link that is indicated as black. My first order I thought could have been a mistake so I reordered to receive another gold. The 1 star pertains to misinformation, not product quality. KMC overall is great--been using their products for decades.

The links attached together with very little effort. I could unlock the link easily with my hands only. No tool required. This product is not safe to use on my bike. Not sure how the company can claim these are compatible with shimano or any other chain for that matter. Complete rubbish. I'll be returning today.

Do not buy. Came with three pieces specific for 10 speed and one piece specific for 9 speed. Did not fit my 8 speed mountain bike and I'm passed the return window.
