Petmate Aspen Pet Self Warming Round Bed, 19.5 Inches, Barn Red and Cream

I decided to buy a new cat bed for my 10 year old cat for Christmas and came upon this one. I wanted a good-quality bed without spending too much money. This one had great reviews and a really good price tag so I ordered it. When it arrived, I gave it to my cat right away. At first she didn't seem too interested and gravitated to her other bed which I just moved into our bedroom. Then, after a day or two, she could be found snuggling happily into her new bed and she spends most of her sleeping and napping hours in this bed. One of the big reasons why I was drawn to this bed is the fact that it is self-warming and, since my cat is starting to get a little older and tends to spend most of her time seeking out warm places where she is either laying in direct sunlight or on top of the counter when the dishwasher is on its drying cycle, I wanted her to have a warmer bed. I love the fact that it doesn't use electricity like an electric blanket or heating pad. Instead it utilizes material that reflects the cat's own body heat to keep them warmer. When my cat's laying in her bed, I have felt underneath her and it's nice and warm but not so hot that it's concerning so I feel safe with her using it. The bed is also incredibly soft, plushy and made of polyester fibers. The outside of the bed feels velvety-soft and the inside is so comfortable for my cat that I don't need to put a blanket in her bed. I purchased the "Warm Spice With Creme" color and it is a beautiful color. The red is almost like a burgundy and the creme is an off-white color. My cat is right around 10 pounds and she fits very comfortably in this bed with lots of room to spare so cats who are larger should have no problem fitting in the bed. This cat bed was a great purchase for us and my cat loves it. She spends almost all of her sleeping time in it and we are very happy with how much she loves the bed. The quality is great, the price was excellent, and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another of these beds in the future. I highly recommend this bed to keep your kitty warm and cuddly!

My cats LOVE these beds and some of them won’t usually sleep in a pet bed. I purchased 3 so far. Will be getting more lol. These are good quality and they’re warm for colder months! (Self warming)

This is a well-made product and as the temperature dips into the teens, our little Yorkie is spending much of his time in this warm and cushy bed. The only disadvantage to this is that because it is so extremely well padded, I was very disappointed that the lining or cover was not removable and I think it’s going to be a nightmare to wash and actually get the inner layers dry.

Finally found a bed the cat likes , turns out she likes the wool type texture bed and blankets , not that shag carpet looking stuff . who knew they have a preference.

My feral cat likes this bed. She stays in garage at night. It is very soft. Good price as well.

I got this self warming bed for my senior cat. She instantly took to this bed. I am not concerned about it looking warm after a short period of time. As long as our cat is comfortable and is happy, we are happy. She is unable to use the cat tower, but still loves bed. She also loves getting under the covers. The bed really does self warm, which is perfect for our kitty. This bed provides everything promised and extra cushion to boot. It is durable, thick, and perfect for her sleeping needs. It's fits her size and is not flat. This bed was made for senior girly!

The product is excellent but the packaging was not correct. I waited 5 days for this cat bed to arrive for an almost tamed feral that lives on my porch for now in a little covered house. The bed is self warming so I was so excited to provide her with warmth until I can get her complete trust. I did not receive any notification that the product had shipped. I checked mid afternoon to make sure it had not arrived. I went out late yesterday afternoon to check my mail and found the box next to my fence. It has been pouring rain for days and the bed had not been sealed in anything that protected it from the elements. It was totally soaked. Yes, it will dry but was just so surprised at the shoddy packing. If I’d received notice it was arriving I would have kept a better look out for it.

As soon as my kitty discovered the retained heat & coziness of this bed, she loved it. Barely leaves it now. Other reviews mentioned that the bottom of the bed (foil) is noisy, but I hardly noticed and neither did my picky cat! Great bed! An awesome trick I read in previous reviews; if your cat doesn’t seem interested or leaves the bed right away, take a blow dryer and blast some heat on it for a bit. As soon as I placed her inside it after warming it up, she laid down almost immediately!

I have tried a few beds with my cat, but each time had to return them as he showed no interest at all in them. I decided to try this one as I liked the fleece lining and the sturdy look of the bed and hoped my cat would too, as he is accustomed to sleeping on a fleece blanket already. At first, he looked at this bed, then walked away, however at my own bedtime, I put his bed on mine and he immediately jumped in, settled down and slept for hours and hours. It was amazing! It is the perfect size for him too. He curled up with room to spare (He is a pretty petite, 4.5kg adult cat) I would highly recommend this bed to any cat mum or dad. It's very well made and very cosy for your furbaby!
