It WORKS if you follow the directions
After seeing several negative reviews, i still went ahead and bought this programmer. I have a Rough Country lift on my truck, and Rough Country recommended this programmer. When I first plugged tis is, it did say it was not compatible with my 2015 GMC Sierra. So i went to hypertech.com, downloaded the programmer software update, and selected the year range for my truck, and took a few minutes to update the programmer. Connected it to my truck, and it worked with no issues. I DO RECOMMEND this programmer if you are changing size of tires.

DONT BE SCAMMED!!!
This product specifically states it is for my vehicle, which is a 2011 camaro v6. I purchased the product and tried to use it, and it did not work. I performed the update as recommended, which was specifically for my vehicle, and it still did not work. Gives an error code stating "not for this vehicle". After numerous calls into tech support where they took my info, and stated they would call me back with the solution, they never once called me back. And on my final call in they finally tell me that they found out that the product does not support manual transmission vehicles. That they do not even make a product that does. And supposedly just found this out for the first time ever. And it just so happened to fall right outside of their return policy time frame. Go figure. So quite a lot of money to be ripped of for a worthless piece of plastic!

Don't assume it doesn't work.
As with many others, wouldnt work out of the box. Contacted Hypertech, waited until I got the email and boom. Worked great. Had to redo it several times to dial in the speedo but no issues. Worth it for me on what it saved me in gas.

Works for my 2018 Silverado 1500, but not without a call to tech support
Upgraded my 2018 Silverado 5.3L to the newer style RST wheels with larger tires. The speedometer was off by around 5mph at 80mph, and the shift points of the transmission were wonky.I looked at this and the Rough Country RC-90009T, which is apparently the same programmer with a red housing and a case, for an additional $80. The Rough Country website lists some additional functionality, like recalibrating the ABS, transmission shift points, and traction control to work with the larger tire size, while the Hypertech website does not. Just for fun, I went to the Rough Country website and downloaded their Tuner Update software, and it's identical to the one I downloaded from the Hypertech website - same version, same everything. My computer recognized it as the same file.I guess get the Hypertech 732501 for $80 cheaper unless you need an $80 case for some reason, or really like the color red.Tried to update via the Tuner Update software, and it gave me an error, saying something like "this configuration is not supported, send an email to tech support and we'll notify you when the configuration is ready". I then tried it in the truck just to see if it would work, and it said an update was required and would not let me continue.I didn't have time for that, so I called tech support. They answered right away and had me give them the serial number from the unit, then retry the update. I assume they unlocked it for this serial number. After calling, the update took right away. Plugged it into the truck and it worked. When you program the vehicle, it asks you for the tire size in inches, in 1/4 inch increments. I took a straight edge and placed it on the top of the tire, and then measured the distance to the ground from the straight edge. This was approximately 32.5 inches, even though the tires are listed as 33s. I entered 32.5 into the programmer for the tire size. A few minutes and a couple of key cycles later, and it was programmed. Took it out for a test drive with GPS running, and the speedometer is spot on. Shifts felt normal again as well. I haven't had a chance to test out the traction control, but I'm going to assume it's appropriately updated as well.Setup was a bit of a pain, which is the reason for 4 stars. It's a little expensive for what it does (it can read DTC trouble codes as well, but I have a much nicer scanner for that), but it does work properly. Guess I can't ask for more than that. One more note: Don't purchase this from Amazon warehouse if it's used/opened. Once this is used to program a vehicle, it's VIN locked to that vehicle unless it's returned to stock configuration.

Don't listen to the negative reviews
Don't listen to the negative reviews, they have no idea what they're talking about.Couple years ago I went from having stock tire size to 33 in which wasn't a big difference and I didn't really notice any changes.About a week ago I said why not and bought 35-in tires. I started driving around. I noticed all of a sudden that in order to maintain highway speeds my engine had to work harder (higher rpms), the shifting wasn't smooth and there was just something wrong with the car, all or a sudden.I did some research and came across this. When you get this first thing is go to your computer plug it in go on their website and download the app. Once it installs click whichever car make and model you have and itll update automaticallyOnce it's done go back to your car make sure everything is off there's nothing in the charging ports and plug this thing in. Very simpleI actually called a local shop before I bought this to see how much they would charge me and they wanted to steal $300. Pure greedy theft. I would pay $50 for a shop to do this not $300.Buy this thing and keep it I know it only has one purpose but if you plan on replacing your battery and keeping your vehicle that means you're disconnecting your negative cable for more than 10 seconds and I'm pretty sure that'll reset your system and you have to use it again. My vehicle is a 2011 suburban 1500 4x4

It’s okay
It’s okay for what it’s priced at. I bought a used 2015 Silverado and the speedometer was off by 7mph. I bought this fix that issue, but the accuracy of this item lacks for the tire sized I inputted. I had to increase what I actually have on the truck and it is still off by 3. I would save your money and just remember whatever you “over” or “under”.
