Must have wrench in your toolbox.
Review #3 as of Feb 2021 All I can say is this past year this wrench has stood its ground with lots of battle scars to prove its worth in the tool box. What an honor to serve along side this faithful companion! This size is perfect for an all round purpose tool around the house. I am surprised I don't carry it on me all the time. Absolute must in a tool box! I am considering to get its bigger brother that can give tougher bolts/nuts a more positive perspective on life. Thanks Stanley! _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Review Update #2 as of NOVEMBER 9TH 2019. The wrench is still as functional as I got it 3 years ago, very higly recommend it. I use it atleast once a month, and stays in my must carry little tool kit I have. The only thing I have noticed is it will cover you 80% of the time, the other 20% you are going to need something bigger, but for the common man, this will do. Thank you for reading this far. Hope this helps. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Review #1 Product Arrived on time I am an enthusiast and like to have different tools at my disposal to work around the house and fix things. I have had this product for more then 4 weeks and have not had any issues. If you are a professional you might have more to add about this product but for regular people out there it does the job well. Pros 1. Good grip 2. Different sizes available 3. Light weight Cons 1.None so far Note: Must have tool in your tool box.

I started remodeling my bathroom which called for work in tight areas, such as around the toilet and under the sink. I only had the adjustable wrenchs in 9 inchs and up. I decided to buy the 6 inch by Stanely because many of the hand tools I own are made by Stanely and they offer a great bang for the buck. The 6 inch wrench is perfect when working in tight areas. You get a better handle on the wrench, which allows for better control. There is nothing more frustrating then dropping your pliers when you are wrapped around a toilet bowl. These pliers have a great grip and allow for easy use when only using one hand. It is also a huge plus that these are available for a rather cheap price. I would recommend this wrench to anyone working in tight area or who needs better control.

a very good adjustable wrench
Stanley is a great name in hand tools. I am putting together a tool kit and I needed a adjustable wrench. This is a great wrench. It opens and closes easily with just your thumb. It has a nice feel in your hand. I put together a tool kit, I think it has everything I need. A mixed review
I have mixed opinions about this hand tool: PROS, * Meaty and strong. * Ergonomic. * Nice looking. * For the money spent, it gets a passing grade. CONS: * Jaw play is looser than I would want for a tool of this meaty construction, and with use it can only get worse-- especially with heavy use, but how much heavy use can one give a 6" wrench without using a cheater pipe? BTW: Never use a cheater pipe on any open ended wrench of any type... * It's so meaty, that the wrench would only be useful for around the house use such as plumbing, or anywhere you have enough room to work it. That statement certainly means not for most automotive uses due to working space to swing it. * Only a two year warranty, and that tells me that Stanley does not think too much about it's longevity survival. So then their warranty, well, sucks, and I mostly like Stanley tools before they discontinue them like they did with their Yankee Push Drill AND the bits. * All high quality hand tools have a life time warranty, and not just two years. Does Stanley think their hand tools are poorly made, and not worthy of a decent warranty because high quality hand tools are not broken-in before two years let alone replacing them within two years, and that's the impression Stanley leaves me with (?). Closing Comments: * I was looking at the meaty equivalent in the Craftsman Pro Series. However, compared to the Stanley, it's not a great buy because the Craftsman equivalent is over three times the cost at $25, but it's engineered better with a lifetime warranty. Only you can make the call on marginal quality gains vs the great pricing of the Stanley. Conclusions: * Having tried to balance quality with cost, I must give the Stanley four stars because for normal around the house, and non commercial use, the Stanley 6" adjustable wrench is worth the price of admission, and should last a lifetime. I recommend the wrench within those parameters, and certainly on par with all brand names in its class. The only reasons that I cannot give this product five stars is the adjustment thumb screw has a slight rough feel, and the jaw is as loose as many other brands I've tried in its price range. Overall, it is a hefty, quality, general purpose tool that you would be happy to use and proud to own, and now you can see why I have mixed opinions because it falls between a professional and general purpose tool.

ok
I've reached for this little adjustable wrench more times than I ever thought I would. Most importantly is that it's slimmer (thinner) than other adjustable wrenches I have, which means the working end, which grips the nut or bolt head, is usually pretty close to the width of the nut or bolt itself. With this six inch tool you're obviously using it on nuts and bolts where the torque needed to loosen the nut or bolt is proportionate to the size of the tool, so it's a nice fit. I hope that makes sense. Also, the adjustable head has a very smooth action, and there is little or no "play" in the head of the tool once you've gripped the nut or bolt. On some adjustable wrenches, the lower (movable) jaw is not machined to tight tolerances, so even when tightened around the bolt head, there is some slipage of the lower jaw and you're not getting full contact between the surfaces of the tool head and the bolt. With this tool, there's full contact among the tool head and bolt head; no wiggling of the lower jaw. Very nice. The grip is easy (i.e., no hard edges) on your ungloved working hand, and the bright yellow makes it easy to spot in your bag or pile of tools. I'd like to find it in a larger size.

Nice size, comfortable
I was undecided between this wrench and the wcb8, and chose this one due to the 1/3 price. $7 instead of $24. The wrench is smaller than I expected, which is fine for my purposes. The jaws on mine have metric and SAE markings, and it opens to about 1 and 1/16th of an inch wide. The handle is a hard plastic, a bit better than a bare metal handle, with a few little ridges that I guess are intended to help your grip. The jaws are quite slack, more than I was expecting, and the primary cause of 3 stars, instead of 5. The knurled worm gear is quite sloppy on it's shaft, which causes the jaw to move a lot. Placing the jaws at the 1/2" mark (center of the adjustment) I measure approx 1/16th of play. If I hold the worm gear with my fingers tightly, there's around 1/32nd of play. The tip of the jaw still moves a lot, there is quite a gap in the sliding mechanism, which lets the whole thing move, both side to side and up/down. Overall, it's yet another Made In China tool. The quality is definitely a little bit better than most in this price range. I'd still buy it again if I needed another 6" wrench. Pros: Cheap! Narrow jaws, and a lot of range for the size. Lightweight/small wrench. Cons: Loose jaw/adjuster mechanism. Plastic handle instead of rubber or hard foam.

The best wrench to use on stage.
I love this wrench. As a production electrician working in the entertainment industry who uses an adjustable wrench daily, I can safely say this is the best adjustable wrench I have ever used. The size is perfect for carrying in your pocket, and it is light weight. The hole in the back is large enough that I can pass my safety lanyard through. the padded grip is extremely comfortable in my hand. The tapered jaw is great for getting into tight spaces and it has a wider jaw capacity than most 6" wrenches. The worm drive is adjusts smoothly yet holds its place so you are not constantly adjusting the jaw size. This is a great 6" wrench and at this price you will not find a better one. I use it with this safety lanyard. Ergodyne Squids 3100 Tool Lanyard - Single Carabiner, Standard, Black

Great value compact adjustable
This is a really nice little basic adjustable, better quality than I expected for the price. It's kind of smaller than I was expecting, very compact which is not a bad thing. Pretty lightweight due to its compact size, without feeling cheap or lacking quality. Grip is pretty nice, maybe the back grippy bit could have been a bit softer but it's certainly more pleasant and grippy than just the bare metal handle. The jaws are good quality, all nice sharp edges, and the adjuster wheel is positive and easy to use. The wheel/jaw stays put, but there is a bit of slack/play in the adjustable jaw - at this price it's to be expected, although good quality this is not a premium priced high end tool. The jaws open extra wide, to a full inch in this case. Not sure that you'd necessarily have enough leverage with this compact a size to take on 1 inch nuts, but its a handy feature and may mean you don't have to resort to carrying around a much bigger/heavier adjustable. Overall a great little compact adjustable, at a good value price. Good handy addition to the tool box, Very pleased with it :)
