Mine came in 5 pieces with no instructions of how to put them together. I figured out most of it but where does the tiny v spring piece go??

Dear Nick, Thank you for your questions. Firstly removing the piece of grille strip which joints the original tab clip by your screwdriver. Secondly removing the old tab, pressing the small metal clip from its both side and putting it inside the main body of tab clip, so as to install them onto the piece of grille strip. Thirdly the other part of clip likes a tail fork is also installed onto the strip. Finally you may install this assembly onto the original AC grille. Can i use this on a 2008 mercedes sl550?

You should be able to use this TTCR-II Front AC Outlet Tab. Use a flashlight and look inside the vent or remove it by depressing the 3 tabs inside and slide it out. Only takes about 2-3 minutes. If the tab forks resemble the item your good. I'm a 1st time Mercedes owner and I replaced 2 vent tabs which took approximately 30 minutes.
