The first one I ordered had a broken snap on the back, was able to return it and got a new one in exchange within 4 days. Was worried the second one wouldn't make it for Father's day. Great sdervice.

I wanted a practical gift for my husband who fishes in the FL Keys where the sun is always a problem. The price was certainly right so I thought I'd try this one (grey) since the reviews seemed positive. He says the hat is great. It keeps the sun off the back & sides of his neck as well as partial face. Since it is mesh he still gets the breeze so it keeps him cooler than any regular hat. It worked so well that his fishing buddy asked him where he got it so we ordered him one (khaki). He hasn't tried it yet because we just received it today. When I saw his I wished I had bought one for his wife who likes to boat also. So I ordered her a white one. Tonight I decided to order one for my brother (grey) in OK since he is also a fisherman and needs sun protection. Then I thought I better get one for my Mom (white) who likes to work in the yard in OK also. I had also ordered a white one for myself after my husband "field tested" it and it worked so well that I thought it would be a great hat for the next time we play bocce. As for myself, I have a small head but this hat fits because it is very adjustable with a "buckle" type & not the Velcro that gets caught on everything. So it looks like this had provides good sun protection, fits various sizes of heads and the mesh can be configured in various ways to aid in sun protection. It may not be the most stylish had, but when it gets the job done, who cares. Besides, I'm beginning to like the way it looks! Try it.

Great at keeping the sun off me while I'm working

I'm really happy with this hat. It's super lightweight, but the construction still seems very good. The netting does what it says, and my neck, ears and cheeks don't get burned when I wear this (and trust me, my skin will burn in just a few minutes of full Mississippi summer sun). When the sun goes behind the clouds, I just fold the netting up under the hat. (You can completely unsnap it if you like.) Although the netting does come out in front of your face a little bit, it really doesn't block peripheral vision. You can see right through the netting. It's also very easy to flip the front part of the netting back because the very front snap does not attach to the hat - instead the two front edges of the flap snap together and they just lay up on top of the brim. So if you need to see better at the periphery, you can just grab the front snap and flip it over the back of the hat, out of the way. If you do this, your ears and neck will still be covered by the netting, but your cheeks will be more exposed to the sun. Overall, I am really pleased with this hat and expect to use it for many years to come.

The hat fits tight on my head at 56 cm or 22 inch circumference of my head. The brim is wide, flat and hard. It does not curve like in the photo The cap sits flat on the head, not raised like in the photo so your head gets hot since no air flow. The flaps start just in front of the ears, and not at face. So NO protection from the sun along the sides of the face. The flap ends just above the shoulders. Also, the tag does not read Talson, but rather Juniper Made in China. It was tagged with all the UV protection information. 100% nylonI bought this for my husband who wears a towel under his hat when he is working. I thought this would provide protection and cooling based on other reviews and look better than those towels he uses. But it was small for him too. He could wear it but it fit tight. Oh well. Glad I got this on a sale price.The one size fits all seems small and I guess I thought the nylon slaps would be more flowing but this material is stiffer. It is going to be in the 90's today so I will wear it and if it proves to be better, I will change my rating. But for now, this is average at best. I would not repurchase which I had hoped to buy one in white.

I love this cap--much more than I expected. After taking it out for its initial "test run" (on a sunny, windy February day), I'm already ordering a second one as back-up. It's one of those rare pieces of equipment that's MORE comfortable to wear than not. I have a long ponytail & the hat fits very comfortably & securely (with or without the cape/flap). The adjustable strap gives a just-right fit & I love that it's *not* velcro & doesn't snag or get caught on things. The cape/flap is amazing--soft, flowing & allows me to be in "my own space" on runs. I tend to love the meditative aspect of running. This cap/cape plus a pair of sunglasses give a wonderful ensconced nondescript feeling, allowing me to tune inwards without seeming rude to passersby. Although some reviewers commented that the cap is funny-looking, I think it looks cool in a geeky runners way. When I'm wearing it I imagine that I'm an ultra runner bounding across the desert with my (pony)tail flying in the wind behind me like a camel or a horse. Who knows, maybe one day this hat will help me cover ultra distances :-)

Great hat, not as pictured tho. More like a boonie hat with full brim, than a tennis hat. I've used it for years without the neck guard

the only down side to the cool of this product is that the area in the rear is open and not meshed which kind of defeats the purpose. it should have it's own little flap.

Blocks sun as expected. Is hot to wear, but I need it!

I love this hat! It's lightweight and absolutely helped prevent sunburns on my face and neck.
