GM Genuine Parts 15742229 Driver Side Front Exterior Door Handle

I replaced mine a few weeks ago and this replacement seems to be working fine. Looks and feels sturdy, just like OE. I'll give an update if things go south, but so far it has been a great product. Looks great, too.Installation is not super easy but not too difficult, either. I did mine in a few hours, but I took my time to make sure it was done right. There are videos on Youtube that will show you step by step. I highly recommend watching them.

After 26 years the driver outside door handle cracked on my '96 C1500. This GM replacement was a perfect match to the original. The install was not easy or difficult, just time consuming.Be sure that the key lock is fully seated in the handle or you will have to remove the door panel and start over. GM did not design the mechanism for a simple replacement.

This is a true GM product, so the fit and placement is great. The installation on the other hand will have you creating new cuss words. My advice, youtube. Don't try to take any shortcuts like I did. Take your time and have a camera or mirror on hand, the rods that attach to the handle are fun.

Perfect Replacement and incredibly fit on a 1997 Chevy C1500. Decided to go with OEM after reading the bad reviews of aftermarket replacements. It is a time consuming job, did not want to do it twice because of a failed replacement part. Definitely worth going OEM.

Went with original GM parts for a bit more money, but fit perfectly and daughter is able to use her door again.

The product is genuine AC Delco and made of metal much better that the Dorman products made of plastic.

A must!
