Curls Unleashed Color Blast Temporary Hair Makeup Wax - Mystic

When I first ordered this product I did not expect to have the results that I did. I thought I would wear it for a week and then rinse it out. What I've discovered is that it is great for color, mixes well, and is also a great styling product. I will say that this product definitely works best on thick and at least curly if not kinky and coily hair. I've used the gray Galaxy to enhance my natural gray streaks, but also used other colors for two strand twists that eventually turned into twist outs. I like the waxy texture as it actually serves to seal and set my curls. I would recommend that you put on a moisturizer and a leave-in conditioner before you apply the product if you're going to leave it for longer than a day or two. This helps keep the wax cast down to a minimum. As I said before you can also mix colors. I mixed gold leaf and sangria to get a ginger kind of rose gold that was popular at one point. And you can also layer colors. I used Bodacious blue and gray Galaxy on my son's hair to give him blue hair with a gray streak. I'm very reluctant to use permanent or even tsemi-permanent hair color because the damage that it can cause to my hair. So this is a nice alternative that allows me to change when the mood hits me.

I decided to try this hair paint because I didn't want to put any chemicals in my hair but I was tired of my mousy gray. As you can see from the pictures it really brightened up my color and the curls are popping. I washed, deep conditioned, added Jamaican Black Castor Oil to scalp & hair, a curl activator and styled with gel the day before. I let air dry. The next day I sprayed generously with water, added a little bit more leave in conditioner and applied the hair paint. I then added gel to small sections at a time used a Denman comb to define the curls. I used my diffuser to start the drying process. I let it air dry the rest of the way. So far I have had no color transfer or flaking. Will know more in a few days. Only con is that it does appear to be a little hard but that's not really a problem for me because I need the curls to last all week. I figured since I moisturizered it well, when I was it out my hair will not be dry, but only time will tell! My family loves the color and said it makes my hair look thicker. Will definitely buy again.

I was looking forward to a dye that would not only temporarily dye my hair but give me the desired color, so I got this one. The first picture to the left is the day 1.. noticeably it starts off as a goldish metallic shiny color which I found to be pretty cool. After a few days of wearing and sleeping on it the color was progressively looking more natural (second picture to the right). Preferably, the second picture to the right is my look because it gives off a bronze/ brownish color. I find this wax impressive for how long it stayed on (had it about 5 days). Some things to keep in mind is that it does firm your hair in a texture like gel and it does style it as if it were gel.. I have curly hair so It actually kept my curls in place, however I applied a leave in conditioner before so it wouldn’t dry my hair out. When picking at it some of the color does come off but not anything dramatic. A helpful tip is to use a rag and damp it with water to remove the remains of the color on your skin when you first apply it!

This product works well on locs (dreadlocks) but has a lot of color transfer when using on curly natural hair. We’ve tried it many times and it is more mess than it is worth. Luckily it works decently on locs with less color transfer.

This colored hair wax is pretty fun! I’m a brunette that wanted to experiment with lilac colored hair without taking the plunge and bleaching my whole head. This gives me a dusty lilac on top of the brown areas of my hair, with a light lavender on the areas that had highlights. I’m really digging it! I have type 3a curly hair. The wax was very easy to apply and as others said; it can get messy. I applied two coats as the Mystic color is very light. (This could very much be due to the fact that after plopping my hair was on the wet side rather than damp). This did pay off with more saturation of color, but I did have to devote more time to “scrunch the crunch”. My hair was CRONCHY. I’m sure I’d have an easier time (and less applications) with a more saturated color. Dragon Fruit is next on my list! A couple notes and maybe tips: Others have stated that the color has dusted off some. I haven’t experienced that (yet?) but I did stir the wax real good when I opened the container. I noticed some separation between the mica powder and the liquid elements. The only time the mica has come out on my hands was when I was scrunching. I haven’t seen any on my clothes, countertop, or floor. Maybe this will help? Speaking of hands - like others said: wear gloves. I didn’t have gloves so I decided to grin and bear the staining. I figured the color wouldn’t stain that bad with it being light, I was wrong. My hands dyed purple. I did figure out something that helped me get about 95% of stain off my hands: I washed my hands with face wash (or soap), rinse, and then used a Mr. Clean magic eraser on my hands. I can’t guarantee this will work on any darker waxes, but it’s something to consider.

I tried this product out of desperation. When I use any color product on my hair my baby hair around my face and the new grey hair at my crown falls out. I decided that I would rather have grey hair than no hair. So I am letting the grey grow out. But my tips are still a faded brown and I do not want to cut it off. So I tried the Grey Galaxy to cover the tips. My hair is a dark silvery grey....slightly metallic but natural looking. This product made my hair curl and feel so good I put it on my whole head. You hands get awfully messy (filled with color) but it all washes off with soap an water. You hair color will wash out with the 1st washing with no residue. Do Not touch your hair until it drys or you will get color on your hands again. Wipe around your ears and neck for any color before you go out. Once it drys your curls will get tighter. I have 4c hair so my curls turned into coils. But I learned that just a little spray and gel when styling my hair the next day created the curls again and they lasted all week. Also I did not have to re-apply the color the spray and gel activated the color again. It does not come off on pillows or clothes (once it is dry) but it did flake if I brushed it while it was dry. I plan to try the Cloud and dark brown color just for the heck of it. The Grey Galaxy will be my staple. And since it made my hair feel and act so good, I will try some of their other products too.

I am writing this as a warning to others. I used this color wax today and within a short time, I developed heart palpitations and a tingling, numb sensation in my arms. The reaction was so strong that I had to stop everything and lie down. Even though it is marketed as a "hair makeup," the chemicals in this formula caused a scary physical response. I would strongly advise against using this if you have any sensitivities to synthetic dyes or fragrances.

The scent is very pleasant and mild, unlike Mofajang which is unbearable. It works! I bought a grey Mystique and although it is great it was too dark for my taste, so I bought Cloud 9 to mix it with the grey and it created a gorgeous lighter shade, just what I wanted! it does not feel stiff like Mofajang, but it makes nice curls. I wore gloves and they washed out clear without any problem; it didn’t stain nor did it transferred to my Clothes. I am very happy with this Product and will reorder.

Not for me but nice

Having recently cut off my shoulder-length relaxed/chemically straightened hair, and wanting to experiment with some new styles for my black (& grey) natural curls, I bought this wax to try out temporary colour without the harsh chemicals. I wasn't expecting much, to be honest, but the result is pretty impressive, and my son has just told me that the colour makes me look 10 years younger! I am 55, so I'll happily accept that compliment! Looking to get some of the other shades now. This wax is value for money and you don't need a lot of product to get good results, though I guess this would depend on the length of your hair and the effect that you are looking for. I absolutely love it. A good temporary colour, which washes out easily.

I also love the colour which I thought would be a bit to bright, but ended up being just right (on grey hair). I am glad that I bought 2 of these products as I will be using frequently. No mess, fuss and I love the way it pops my natural curls. I would definitely recommend ( I also have the grey colour).

Molto carino soprattutto d'estate, l'effetto brillantinato che crea! Ottimo come "tattica" per camuffare i capelli bianchi..inoltre sui miei capelli funge da condizionatore, cioè li definisce e fissa lasciandoli comunque morbidi. Molte mie amiche hanno voluto provarlo!!! E poi con tanti colori ci si può sbizzarrire!!!! Non sporca i vestiti dopo l'applicazione lascia soltanto brillantini d'orario che con acqua viene tranquillamente via!!! No roba bianca però...attenzione! Bell'acquisto!!!
