**Q: What is the height and the width of the just the small bracket. It needs to got on the edge of a 2x4 for my back gate?**
A: The width is an inch and a half.  The height is an inch and 7/8ths.

**Q: can you add a padlock for extra security**
A: yes - you can add a padlock.

**Q: what is the depth when laying flat, want to put on a pocket door, at the top, it's apool bath, super narrow space between pocket door and wall**
A: I held a board up against it and measured. It was 1 1/4" . The opening will have to be larger than that or it will rub.

**Q: Does this come with one way screws screw it down but cqannot take out please let me know.**
A: No. They screw in and can be unscrewed. - Not one way screws. But you could probably change them out for one way screws the piece is a good buy. - We have 2 of them.

So far this is working well. We have stall forts which settle and/or change a bit with the weather. This makes closing the latches effortless again even as things move a little. I deducted one star because it is not very heavy in weight and I am not sure how long it will last.

works great for single doors locking onto a fixed post, but does not work on double doors as you can just push and the latch will slide in its hole.

Our clever pups were pushing the bottom of our backyard gate open and escaping into the wild of our subdivision. We picked up this latch and it was perfect to secure the lower part of our gate.  Sturdy and easy to install.  Sorry Hounds. No more unsupervised sprees around the neighborhood.
