Q: Does it need carbonated water?

If you want to replicate the soda, yes. It does not carbonate the water in it's own. It is not required for drinking though, if you like it flat.

Q: are they caffeine-free?

I’ll be brutally honest I’m not sure if they are caffeine free but they tasted so bad that I through all 12 boxes away! I hoped they would be at least similar to the bottles and cans you can get at the grocery—NOT!!!!

Q: Regular RC Cola available?

I have never seen Regular Rc Cola in powder!

Q: Are they gluten free?

The container does not say that it is gluten free. So I would be careful with it. They do list the ingredients but I am not well versed in the hidden glutens or what may be a gluten in the products listed. Take care
