CyberPower PR1500LCD Smart App Sinewave UPS Battery Backup

The CyberPower PR1500LCD 1500VA/1500W was a big purchase for me, but I considered it essential to protect my 3D printers and networking equipment. It arrived in good condition and setup was straightforward.I do not run this unit at full 1500W capacity. During initial bed heating on my printers, the load can spike to around 1000W, and after that it settles to roughly 50 percent of the unit’s output including my networking gear. It handles those startup surges without issue and provides stable, clean sinewave power, which is important where I live due to unstable electricity.The unit itself is very well built with solid metal construction. It feels compact for what it is, but it is very heavy, so be prepared and lift safely when positioning it. The screen is clear and easy to read, and the remote display makes it convenient to monitor current load and check events without accessing the main chassis. It has plenty of outlets for my setup.It runs quietly under normal conditions. When on battery, you will hear a noticeable fan noise, but it is not excessive. I do not expect it to power everything at full blast for extended periods, but it gives me enough runtime to safely pause prints and shut systems down properly during an outage.For protecting expensive equipment and ensuring clean, reliable power delivery, this has been a solid investment and I would recommend it.

This is the best UPS I've ever owned. I purchased model PR1500LCD. It feels very well constructed, no low quality plastics here. Its relatively compact, and low profile; but it weighs 51lbs. The on-device display provides plenty of useful info about the quality of current coming in; voltage is even in 2 places beyond the decimal. Even my dedicated multimeter doesn't go beyond tenths. It appears to poll every second. When it kicks over to run off the battery, it engages fairly quick; and the inverter makes very little noise while its running. In fact; the cooling fan is louder, with just a nice whooshing air noise.Settings from the panel are limited. The web based app, PowerPanel Business offers extremely granular controls down to each outlet. This is currently free to use, and a deciding factor between Cyberpower and APS for me. This App supports SNMP V3, allows 3rd party Certs of your preference, AES/SHA encryption. Remote notifications and management can be set up. There is native Linux support for the app. There is even a setting to delay switching back to external power supply, which is great since there is usually a dip and spike in current when utilities are restored after an outage in my area. That is good for the UPS and good for my connected devices. Projected runtimes are excellent. About 5~6 hours to keep my network and modem up is outstanding to me. 1h30 estimate; keeping my PC, monitor, office inkjet printer, peripherals and network up at light load (~160w/3.6a) seems pretty good to me. I've yet to test in an actual outage since this has been used 2 days.

I've had this for a bit over a month. I have a tower PC with a 1000-watt power supply, and 6 monitors. As it is, it's only using 300 watts, but this UPS would handle it all if the power supply was running at full load, with power to spare. Its estimated run time is over an hour with ~300 watts load, but I have it set up to shut the PC down after 15 minutes of lost power. That way if the lights aren't off long, the PC stays on, and it doesn't drain the batteries. It's done that a couple of times so far with no issues. It's also had to adjust for low and high line voltages during that time. Since Beryl came through, power hasn't been stable here. This unit makes it stable. I really like the removeable display that I can mount where it's easy to view, and the information I get from it. The PowerPanel software makes it easy to change settings and keeps a record of events. This is overkill for a laptop, but worth protecting a few thousand dollars worth of equipment. Be sure to read the manual to get the full benefit of all the features. I'd definitely buy another one, but I really don't need a second one yet.

This review is for the 1500VA model. Unfortunately Amazon tends to lump completely different products into the same review set. Features mentioned here may not be present on all models.This UPS hits above its weight class. Actually that's not true because it's h-e-a-v-y thanks to the large capacity internal batteries. Where it's light is on the wallet.By dividing the battery watt hours by the cost this is one of the highest capacity per dollar UPS systems out there. (I only included 1500VA models in my search.) In addition to it being a price/capacity leader it also has a top line feature set as well.It's a true sine wave UPS that is silent when both in standby mode and while charging the battery. No hum (as compared to another CyberPower favorite the CPS1500AVR) or fan at all. While charging the UPS may initially draw close to 60 watts but that gradually drops to about 3-5 watts when the battery is completely charged. Estimated runtime on about 180 watts is roughly 2 hours. I have not tested that estimate.It's attractive, or about as attractive as a large box filled with batteries can be. The front panel LCD lights up but the back light turns off which is something to be thankful for if you have it located somewhere you'd like to be dark. Between the acoustics and lighting it can be used in fairly sensitive areas.A nice surprise was the non-critical load (NCL) outlets. There are four critical and four non-critical battery backed outlets on the back of the UPS. Through the panel the non-critical outlets can easily be configured to shut down before the critical load outlets. So devices in the non-critical can be set up to cleanly shut down upon power loss and critical devices can stay running for as long as the large capacity batteries hold up. This behavior is optional.The few negatives that I can see mostly center around the UPS's robust feature set. The CyberPower software does not allow control of all of the features of the UPS. This means that front panel button mashing is required to properly configure all of the features. And that process is a bit fiddly. Also due to all of the features it might be a little difficult to configure properly. The documentation is not terribly clear on what some of the settings are. It would be very helpful if all features could be configured through the companion software.The one serious negative is that CyberPower seems to be getting in on the "battery replacement game". In the past CyberPower has been very clear about what batteries were in the UPS so they were easy to source and replace. Now they're assigning them proprietary numbers and sticking them together in 'modules' so they can sell replacements themselves. The only reason I'm not taking off stars for these shenanigans is that I expect when the time comes they'll be very standard batteries that will be easy to replace myself.

I needed a greater capacity backup power supply after adding some additional equipment to my internet access hub. I had a smaller APC unit that has performed well over 6 years, but it would last only about 1 hour with the additional equipment's load. This CyberPower's two 12 volt / 17 amp batteries will carry my expanded 100 watt load for 4 hours. The unit has a variety of setup options, and the removable and informative user interface panel can be relocated via its extension cable for easier access if the unit itself is mounted in an inaccessible location. The only criticism is that with the unit's 60 lb. weight, its shipping box should have been banded with fiberglass straps. It arrived partially open (fortunately undamaged) even though it was in the shipping channel for only 24 hours. Otherwise, it's a good value and I recommend it to anyone wanting a UPS of this caliber.

I love that you can pull out the control panel and mount it in an easy to reach location.Where I live, power output can be unstable so, I only really needed this for brownout protection and not so much as a battery but I was plesently supprised that with my setup, it will last for about 2.5 hours on a 13% load (low power stuffs, working, web surfing) and about 26 mins on a full load. Exactly what I was looking for. Software is really advanced. My only issue with it is you need to script it to shutdown devices when low on remaining runtime. It would be nice if this was a default setting but I can understand why it isn't. Much more suted for an MSP since you can set it up to a centrlized control panel for multiple clients. I need this for personal use but I also happen to work for an MSP and will definately keep this product in mind.I may be kind of crazy buying this high end of a battery for my gaming rig when this sort of thing is normally used for a server/network equipment but it has the wattage output to handel my 1200w PSU even if power input spikes.

I have several UPS units (Cyberpower & APC) around the house.I purchased a new gaming computer (14900K & 4090), any time i did a benchmark or booted up a heavy game (Cyberpunk 2077, etc...) my previous UPS immediately signaled overload and began howling at me.After some research, I discovered the unit I'm reviewing, and couldn't be happier.The Good:+ Supports a TRUE 1500w! Even the manual states it has a run-time of ~5 min at full load. Believe it.+ Many options and features as well as a useful, matter-of-fact display unit.+ Feels incredibly well built.+ Detachable face plate and cord included (Screen snaps off the unit and is connected by cable)+ Adequate to protect a MONSTER PC that pulls ~1,300-watt surges when running at max power.The Bad:- Weighs a shocking amount (Think: A loaf of bread made from cast iron!)- Display turns off too early and doesn't seem to have an option to change the time delay.- Requires downloading a different web-based app to monitor the UPS from the PC.- Fans sometimes spin up for no reason even when no load or power fault is occurring.

I am a software entrepreneur and work out of my home. This is the UPS I use to protect my workstation. At any given time my workstation is running a minimum of four guest virtual machines, along with the host. All of my primary work is stored on these machines(of course it gets offloaded to the cloud and my NAS nightly) and it's really my lifeblood. In the rural area I'm located in, power outages are commonplace.This UPS has seen it's share of fun over the last year and half. It has yet to do something wrong. Here's the kind of punishment it's had to endure:1) At least 30 outages since I purchased in 2012.2) In every outage it successfully switched to battery backup without hiccup.3) I average about 1 hour of runtime on battery.4) The governor was off on one of my Generators that powers part of the house when we loose power. The UPS accurately refused to switch to utility(generator) power, when the generator was producing power too far out of safe frequency(in North America should be 60Hz). Frequency problems can often times be worse for equipment then voltage issues.5) Extended outages whilst I was away. The UPS correctly forced my machine to go to sleep before it ran out of battery power.6) Always alerts me if I'm away and there is an outage using the built in SMTP client.I've definitely gotten my use out of it. Prior to my entrepreneurial ventures I served in a Director level capacity for a number of technology companies. I was always accustomed to buying APC and was a bit apprehensive about buying CyberPower instead. However, I'm glad I did. The price point is better, and as far as my experience, they are just as reliable, if not more so.The only glitch I ran into, is once after a power failure, the UPS reported a battery issue. After it charged for a few minutes, I reset the UPS and it went away.I would definitely buy CyperPower products again.

Compre este no-break para sustituir un no break Sola Basic, que no soportaba PFC entonces con cada pico de luz hacia una ligera interrupción y mataba la máquina (esto me trajo muchísimos dolores de cabeza).El no-break probablemente este sobrado para equipos de escritorio, o donde no haya equipos de conectividad continua. En mi caso tengo conectado el punto de acceso de fibra de Axtel, un ruteador x86, un Servidor (ambos con fuente PFC). La carga promedio es de 74W y soporta 3:45.El software aunque un poco pesado se me hace bueno, me da toda la información y permite configurar los limites de voltaje para el regulador y el no-break.No es del todo silencioso, no llega al extremo de una aspiradora o una tarjeta de video a tope, pero tomando en cuenta que este es un electrónico de potencia, creo que es entendible.Entre las cosas que se pueden mejorar es un poco la forma que se interactúa con el panel frontal, a veces es confuso, pero una vez entendiéndole no presenta mayor complejidad.Definitivamente el mejor no break al que he tenido acceso.

El producto está bastante bien, tengo como un mes aproximadamente usándolo y hasta el momento bien, únicamente al principio fue un poco complicado entender la programación de valores, pero una vez que los comprendes es sencillo, el costo me parece justo considerando que tenemos otros de otra marca con las mismas prestaciones pero mas caros, en general es un buen producto.

Aguanta perfectamente 4 iMacs de 27" 5K Sin problema alguno. Lo más que llega en consumo es al 70% en Watts. Normalmente está entre 40-50% de consumo. La pila es fácilmente reemplazable a diferencia de modelos anteriores.
