Beautiful sound for a beautiful price
Seeing a condenser mic for less than £100 was surprising, but I know Mackie to be a good brand, so thought I’d take a gamble. It paid off, big time. This is a fantastic sounding microphone, and for the price, you really cannot go wrong. I only wish I had discovered it sooner!

Great microphone for the money.
Searching for a microphone but didn't want to spend too much on it, then found the MACKIE EM-USB. Great value. (£51 at the time). Well built. Mute button with led indicator. Mic gain + headphone volume level control. Cable.(+) Stand (+++). Following some testing, very good mic and headphone audio quality for the price.

Professional sounding USB mic
I have been using the RODE NT USB for voice-over work and vocals for the last year or so. Thought I'd try this Mackie EM-USB at £56 and the quality is excellent. It sounds much fuller than the RODE, especially on the lower end. Highly recommend

Not bad at all for the price
This is a perfectly serviceable little mic, especially for the price. A little boxy but should be fine for the purpose most people buy this for. If you need something better you'll spend more.

Underrated gem
Bought the XLR version of this mic to do some light voiceover/podcast work and it sounds great for the price. Vocals are well-balanced and smooth out of the box - sibilance is controlled to my ears and you don't get that get that extreme bass bloat when the proximity effect is increased. Not sure why I haven't seen this mic recommended more. The cardioid pattern the mic employs does a great job of blocking out noise behind the mic too - my mic is positioned in front of a laptop with a noisy fan and a window that leaks through the sounds of a nearby train station, and it minimises these background noises really well. The only tiny criticism I have is that Mackie produce a matching pop shield for this mic but don't include it here as a bundled option.

USB-C port broke
I was very happy with the mic itself, and the quality was as good as it gets for the price, but unfortunately the USB-C port broke off from the circuit board after two months. It came off very easily while I was just moving the cable out of the way which means it was likely broken but I didn't notice before. Sadly I can't recommend because of that.

Terrible Recording quality
Awful quality recordings, Don't be fooled by the nice design and nice look + that it comes from a supposedly good manufacturer. What you will get is a microphone that can't do its job and has a terrible Self-Noise levels which They do not disclose anywhere.. for a Reason! If they would list the Self-Noise levels of this microphone no1 would purchase it! You can't use the recordings from this microphone without heavily postprocessing them and removing the background self-noise. The self-Noise is seriously even worse than on some cheap $5 mics! AVOID This mic...
