the one i just got does not have a choke. there is only 1 hole for a rod not 2. i’m wondering if it’s the completely wrong carb but the part?

Copied from my review, I hope this helps. On my mower this replacement carburetor is slightly different and has a spring to operate the choke on the carburetor. The original carburetor had a linkage bar to a spring attached to the front of the lawnmower. If you come across this remove the choke linkage bar (it's not needed). Just attach the governor linkage and reassemble your mower. Verified with Briggs & Stratton the 594058 carb is the only carburetor listed engine Model 104M020008F1

Will this work on model 104M020131F1?

No. This is aftermarket carb. It didn’t work for me. It states Briggs and Stratton but it’s not. Be careful and purchase OEM.

Does this fit the briggs 625exi 1500 cc motors built in 2018?
