Fun engine building game!
My son and I play ALOT of games, and we really enjoy this particular game. It's simple enough my daughter and girlfriend can enjoy it at well (some games we play are too complicated and they are not interested in joining us). My son is very competitive and suffers from analysis paralysis, but this game has 2 key features that limit this somewhat. First of all, it's not obvious who is going to win. He really doesn't like playing a game where he is clearly losing. This particular game it's "not over 'til it's over". If he's not focused on whether he's losing or not, he can enjoy the game better. Secondly, all turns take place simultaneously, so I'm not waiting forever for him to take his turn; we can both think about our turns at the same time! A+++

What a great game!
I am a huge fan. It is easy to teach but keeps you in the game the whole time. Love the artwork. The quality of what you get versus the price is great. Highly recommend!

Awesome beginning engine building game for all
After playing Wingspan (and enjoying it immensely) I knew I wanted to look more into engine building games. Originally I had been skeptical about Wingspan due to down time, and limited player interaction. Well, this game is an engine builder, is very different, has minimal player interaction with little to no downtime. I like this as much as Wingspan Even, and think they are both games in very different ways other than they are both engine builders.I have played this game at least a dozen times. Every time, the game turns out different which is amazing because there are only two ways to score victory points. I thoroughly enjoy trying to pick my path to victory by developing different cards and trying to mitigate the rolls of the dice. There is even a solo mode which has you trying to beat an automa that is pretty good. The player interaction happens when everyone participates in the first phase, where you are selecting a card to use the current turn or in the future. That is it. Not much. You can mitigate your luck in drafting a card by using a material token to replace the cards available which is great. From there, in the second phase you are rolling your own dice (Everyone has at least 4) and developing your engine simultaneously via solitaire (much like the engine builder Wingspan though there turns are done one by one). There is no downtime. We usually talk through when we get goods (which are later redeemed for victory points) or other materials, and it is neat to watch and see what someone else is working on, but there really is no analysis paralysis. If you build something, you can use it that turn too. This leads to gameplay of under an hour and scales really well at all player counts - it is just as tense with 2 players as 5. There are lots of variety in the cards, and there are mainly two of each which is cool because if you see something that you missed out on earlier, you can hope to try to get it later. The cards are a nice finish, and even with playing quite a bit show no wear yet. The dice are very nice, standard sized and colorful. Tokens are made from quality board. The player boards are multiple layered and easily allow you to place your dice in the cutout areas. The box even allows for sleeved cards (fits the unsleeved cards well too) and all the other pieces have places to go as well. It is exactly how an insert should be made, and I wish more games did this. The gameplay and production really are 5 stars all the way. This is a great game to introduce others to the mechanic of engine building as well, and easily recommend - especially if you enjoy dice games (which I do). Pick this one up, you won’t regret it.
