We have a bunch of different types of sous vide weights from almost 9 years of cooking with this method. Most of them slip and fall off the food which is infuriating. Especially if it's a lumpy bumpy roast with rounded edges, or if the food saver didn't quite get all the air out of a corner that now wants to float up. We bought this Sous Vide Sinker in the summer and haven't bothered using any of the other weights again - it's AWESOME. This weight doesn't let anything float up, doesn't matter the size or shape, and there's no fiddling or struggling with it or sticking your hand in super hot water trying to roll weights back in place. You just toss this thing over the top like a fisher's net and it sinks down and KEEPS everything down. It's all metal, super good quality, worth every penny! Plus we've used it almost every day since July and it has never rusted - it's a piece of cake to keep it clean. Just take it out and lay it on a towel or just on the counter to let it dry. We've left it in the water for days at a time and it still looks brand new. Excellent purchase.

I use this weight all of the time and it hasn't rusted. It works great on sous vide beef and chicken. However, pork seems to lift when it cooks and more weight added would keep it down so it doesn't float.

I received my sous vide sinker yesterday and immediately put it to use. I couldn't be happier with the product. Prior to buying the sinker weight I had relied on binder clips to secure the bag to the side of the container but that didn't always work as sometimes it would still float or if I was cooking a few items at once I couldnt fit them all along the edge of the container. The sinker weight solved those problems perfectly. The fact that I don't have a vacuum sealer has always been a problem as it's difficult to get all of the air out of the ziplock. Now that I have the sinker weight that's not as much of a concern. I get as much air out as I can and if it still floats I just place the weight on it and we're all set. Over all I'd give this a 10/10. Super easy to use and store when not in use and for a great price as well.

I've tried a few different ways to keep my sous vide items submerged - magnets, clips, weights... and to a degree they all kind of work. This sinker weight has proven to be the best solution for me so far. It's nicely heavy and quick easy to position. If you're not happy with what you're using, I'd highly recommend this.
