Old reviews aren’t the current model.
It seems some of the reviews here are of a different or older model. The newest model that I received is a great fan.Older reviews show candelabra style LED bulbs. This unit has a fixed LED array (see pic). The LED array is dimmable with the right controller. When the fan arrived, it was missing hardware. The seller was quick to contact the manufacturer and resolved it.The fan is incredibly easy to install as long as you have the in ceiling hardware needed. I went with the flush install. There is even a hook on the mounting point to hang the fan while completing your wiring.I’m using a hunter remote control, and there is some hum on high and medium, but completely quiet on low.It is a beautiful fan, and made the room feel much bigger than our old low hanging model.

Good quiet ceiling fan
Fairly easy install. Bought two and installed the second in about 15 minutes. First one took a little more time as it was my first time installing a ceiling fan.Works well with Inovelli fan switch for variable speed control.

Really mediocre instructions, lights have no dimmer (just on/off)
I purchased this because Consumer Reports rated it highly. It's supposed to be very quiet and energy efficient. The latter is not my top concern, so I'm not going to test for that. It is *somewhat* quiet, but if I want to do audio recordings in this room I would still need to turn the fan completely off.I would have preferred it with bronze/brass hardware and a nice medium brown wood grain, but the high tech black look does complement my computer/monitors tech look.A few minor negs:1) REALLY disappointed that the light does not have multiple dimmer options. It's just on/off, and on is pretty bright.2) Installation instructions are embarrassingly lacking. Several things I had to figure out. For example, you may want to mount the blades BEFORE you try mounting the fan because it's a real shenanigan. The top of the light fixture comes pre-installed on the motor. It would have been easier to mount the fan blades if that were not in the way. It has a slot that leaves enough space to get at one fan blade's pair of mounting screws. They are not provided separately, and that is not detailed in the instructions. It just says to use the screws and lock washers "provided". You have to remove them from the motor housing (once you have figured out which ones they are). There are other things that could have been explained much more clearly that would have made the entire process a lot easier and faster.3) Good quality fans are designed so that when you hang it on the bracket hook in order to wire it, you should be able to just swing it up onto the mounting bracket. My previous (Hunter brand) fan did that. This one did not. You had to unhook it in order to mount it to the bracket.4) SHIPPING NOTE: They just slapped labels on the fan box, but that box is pretty flimsy cardboard not at all designed to endure getting banged around in shipping. When it arrived, corners were torn and it looked pretty battered. Inside, the Styrofoam packing had broken up a bit. However, as luck would have it none of the fan parts appeared to be damaged. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH SMARTER to pack this thing inside a sturdier cardboard box before shipping.POSITIVE DESIGN NOTE: the large disc-shaped screws that hold the glass on over the light fixture seem pretty well designed, with some protective padding between the plastic of the screw heads and the glass.

Great Fan
Read some reviews on this fan and it sounded excellent. It swayed us to purchase the fan. I am glad as it is just what we needed for the office. The fan circulates the air well in the room. The fan doesn't come with a remote which isn't a problem for us. The fan is super quiet and it was easy to install. Love the fact it is an energy star fan with a led light. The glass globe was broken in three pieces when it arrived, but we called Westinghouse and they shipped out a replacement immediately. We had the replacement within three business days. Excellent fan.

One of the smartest purchases I’ve made
After reading about these fans on Wirecutter, I bought two (one black, one white) and can confirm that they are indeed quite perfect. They move air effectively, are so quiet you forget they’re on, and are both handsome and yet so clean-looking as to melt into the background in a good way. Even the light gives a nice glow.I can’t speak to ease of installation as I hired an electrician to install them. Not do I have a review of a remote, because my models didn’t come with remotes (a regrettably missed opportunity). But I delight in how much I am saving with these fans, especially as compared to an energy-sucking AC and given California’s climate-impacted, wildfire-strained energy grid. Get them!

Best ceiling fan we have ever had.
We have 4 ceiling fans in the house. This is by far the quietest and puts out the most air movement of any of them. And this one was quite a bit less that the others cost 15 years ago. Install of this model was a bit more difficult due to the way the blades attach to the motor. There is a hole in the lower shroud, just above the light fixture and you can only get the screws in by positioning it above that hole. So a bit more of a juggling act for one person installing it.

Don't trust wirecutter on this one
I bought this on recommendation from wirecutter as their top ceiling fan pick, and boy did I regret it. For context, I'm a former electrician in the Navy and have installed quite a few ceiling fans over the years.I'll start with the few positives. The fan housing and reversible blades are solid feeling and attractive, it looks good on the ceiling. That's about it.The assembly was terrible. The stiff lock washers for the blades are too tight, so you better have very strong fingers to jam them onto each screw that attaches each blade to the blade brackets, 3 of these per blade, and 5 blades total, My fingers are still raw from doing all of those. I even tried using pliers to push them on each screw instead, but that would snap the washer in half before it went on, only working around with really hard finger pressure would get them eventually on without breaking. The mounting bracket that attaches to your junction box in the ceiling is very thin sheet metal, I'm sure it'll hold the fan safely, but it seems weird they skimped that much on material on the most important piece, usually they are made with much thicker metal, especially since this fan is also not equipped with a braided steel safety line to screw into your box like I'm used to most ceiling fans having. It's always a good idea to spin the motor of the fan before you put it together and hang it, so if there is any motor noise you don't waste all that time. There was no noise when spun freely, but once hung, the motor made a click click click sound at all speeds. I even took it down and disassembled down to the motor to see if there was a wire or loose screw causing, but it's internal to the motor assembly itself. So back it goes. Don't bother with this one no matter what wirecutter says.

Good quality but no air flow on any speed... its like it's not even on
Looks good. Nice wooden blades. heavy motor. But I'm disappointed with the air flow. Not sure why but for a fan that is for "large rooms" I don't even feel when mine is on... on any speed. It's quiet... because the air is not moving... The light is fine, but the lack of remote control is annoying. The instructions were lacking and out of order. This is the second fan I install up on my bedroom; it will stay. so tired of being disappointed...

Dim lights
It's a good fan - nice and quiet. My only complaint is that the lights are very dim. About 2X 60 Watt equivalent, which is about half of what my old fan had.The problem is the bulbs are "candelabra base" instead of standard base, and nobody makes brighter bulbs with that smaller base.

This item does not have CSA or cETL certification and should not be sold or even be advertised for sale in Canada. DO NOT BUY. Westinghouse has confirmed this with me.
