K&N Engine Air Filter: Reusable, Clean Every 75,000 Miles, Washable, Replacement Car Air Filter: Compatible 2009-2019 Opel/Holden/Vauxhall/Buick/Chevy (Zafira, Astra, MK6, PJ, Verano, Cruze), 33-2966

I put this air filter in my 2013 Cruze in December of 2014. I personally couldn't tell if there was a single digit increase in horsepower as some claim but maybe I'm just ignorant to the obvious.The best part of the story came three months later when I took my car into the dealer for a knocking noise under the hood. After looking over the car the mechanic (I use that term loosely) informed me that my coil had fouled out but it wasn't covered by the warranty because it was caused by the air filter.Go ahead and read that last sentence again, I'll wait...I promptly left the dealership and called K&N and they were amazing. There suggested next steps were essentially to speak to the service department again to give them the chance to remove their foot from there mouth and to call back if they stood by their claim. I called back and spoke to the same rep at K&N (as he was thoughtful enough to give me his direct number) and he assured me they would take care of it. He also pointed me to their warranty information and a plethora of studies they have conducted to support their claims.Skip to the end, I didn't pay for the coil. Absolutely impressed with K&N's commitment to the customer and follow through. Can't recommend enough.

One of the first things that I always do when I purchase a new car is switch out the crappy factory engine air filter with a lifetime K&N engine air filter. It is one of, if not, the simplest way to immediately improve your car's performance and gas mileage. Believe me, once the K&N filter is installed, you will immediately notice better engine performance and, over time, you will see an increase in your MPGs.I used this particular filter in my 2012 Buick Verano. Like always, it was a very easy install. Some cars have metal clips that hold the air filter compartment cover in place and some, like my Verano, have metal screws. So, all I had to do was unscrew the six screws around the top of the air filter compartment, pull the top part of the compartment off, pull out the crappy, factory, paper filter and drop my K&N filter in. The top will not come completely off as it is connected to the hose that feeds the filtered clean air into the engine. The K&N filter comes oiled and ready to go right out of the package so there is no preparation for you. The red color that you see on the filter is the special K&N oil/lube. The K&N filter has a lip all the way around it and the filter protrudes out of one side. The side that protrudes out is the side that faces down into the air filter compartment so, when installed correctly, everything is flush with the top of the bottom half of the compartment. Then just place the top half of the compartment that is connected to the air hose leading into your engine back on and screw the six screws back in. They may seem tighter this time because of the nice, thick rubber seal around the new K&N filter that your factory paper filter did not have. This is good. It may require a little more umph from you to screw the six screws back in, but the seal will be nice and tight. That's it! Now you're good to go.The K&N filter may be more expensive than the crappy paper (AC Delco in my case) filter that came with your car, but it will pay for itself over time since it is a lifetime filter that you never throw away. When you buy it, it will come with instructions on when to take it out and clean it and how to clean it. It also comes with a few stickers that you can stick to the top of your air filter compartment so when you bring your car in for service, the mechanic/technician sees that there's a K&N air filter in there and they won't even bother with it, but if they do, they know not to throw it away. One sticker is just the K&N logo and the other is a stop sign and says something to the fact that it is a lifetime filter and does not void any warranties and not to remove it and if they have any questions, they can call the number on the sticker and a K&N rep will explain to them why it is a lifetime filter and why it does not void any warranties. Like I said, I've had a number of these guys over the years in my Volvo S40, Cadillac DTS, Mercedes CLS500 and now my Buick Verano and I've never had any problems with the filter or from the mechanics. They see the name and they know.

2014 chevy cruze 1.4L. People need to realize that if you're looking HP, get a CAI! The main purpose for these filters is to be reusable for the entire life of the car. They have lifetime warranties. You simply save 10 to 20 dollars every oil change by not buying a paper filter. The added air flow and power gain is bonus. The added power is mostly down low meaning better throttle response and slight acceleration. MPG is a tad better but I didn't buy this filter for that purpose alone.

Felt a better response from my 2013 Chevrolet cruze 1.4L turbo Automatic. Gas mileage increased by 1-2 mpg depending on my driving habit. All in all its a good product.

Nominal increase in engine performance resulting in better gas mileage and a noticeable increase in torque. I couldn't get a K & N cold air intake, so I bought a K & N filter to fit the filter box. I may fabricate a cold air intake later.

I knew I would probably see a difference in HP. I always have with these. I got it mainly for the MPG boost, but is yet to be seen. I just put in this morning.I wanted to post this because I I have a 2014 Diesel Cruze and I know there are a lot of us out there. When I took out the stock filter, I just could not believe the difference! I don't know who designed the stock filter but they should have their head examined- a piece of felt right across the bottom! Talk about air restriction! So to all of us Diesel Cruze enthusiasts, I am posting this as you may want to spend the $50 just for better air flow as it appears the stock one literally chokes it off. PS I can sqawk the tires now from a dead stop until the T/C kicks in due to the added boost. Due to that and it being a diesel, I wouldn't be surprised to see an additional 3mpg. I am taking a long trip soon and heard fuel prices are rising again so I hope to report an addition of at least 1mpg. At any rate, fun to to drive before, really fun now!

K&N has made quality air filters for a very long time, I have bought these over the years and never had to replace one.Makes sense to buy a filter that doesn’t need to be replaced and can be cleaned instead of throwing away cheaper ones.
