there are more cheaper versions out there and the only reason I bought this because it advertised in its description as ‘constant power- outlet stays on even when bulb power is off’. I was looking for this feature and so ordered. It doesn’t work that way. The whole unit will be on and that means the light will be on whenever you want to use the electric equipment from the outlets. Unless I am wrong in any other way, this is blatantly false advertising and misleading the customers.

This thing looked realllllly cheap when I first took it out of the box, and I was even more cautious when I screwed it in, and it felt like I dipped the metal (I guess you can call it metal, just barely) in a bucket of sand... (It was not a smooth ride) turning this into the socket. But after all of that, hay what do you know, it works, and it doesn't even heat up. At least not that I have seen so far..

I needed this for my rear basement exit. I have my lawn tractor parked by it because it's covered, but no electrical outlet. I do have a light so I got this item to plug in a battery tender to get me through the winter. The plug was about 1/2 inch too short because the light I have has a cone surrounding the flood light bulb. Thus I could not use it. I had to buy an extension to use it, but it works.

I needed to attach a Christmas ball to the ceiling and needed an adapter so I could run the ball off a light bulb socket. There are many choices but this one worked perfectly for me. So a good solution for not much money.

Disappointed that description didn't make it clear whether AC outlet would function when light was off. AC OUTLET DOES NOT FUNCTION WHEN LIGHT IS SWITCHED OFF.

Very surprised that a simple product by the great GE corporation is DOA. Returning for a refund.

This is a great product. It allows for two plug ins though a normal light socket and although not shown in this picture, it has a removal screw in plastic piece on the bottom in case you do not want a light installed in it. I cannot have any light at all in the summer nights on my greenhouse, but I do want the light once my produce has been harvested, but i still need the extra plugin for various outside products. Great product

If you don't have a power outlet, but just a bulb holder and you need to power something, this is the best thing you could get.happy with the purchase.
