Quality to match Canon L-series lenses
Picked this up for a Canon EF 28-300 mm f/3.5-5.6L lens. Had problems in the past with polarizers softening images and decided to spend the money to prevent that from happening again. Premium price but very satisfied with the results.

Quality of the filter and the Truth about Potential counterfeits
[State of counterfeits in December 2021 and how to completely avoid them]_______________________________________________________________________________________________This is an extremely high quality, Brass filter. All version of it are Brass.Using it for the past few days I have seen Zero issues with image sharpness at all, vignetting or distortion. Its heavy, Solid and extremely smooth to turn. However, I have noticed that when using this on a step up ring (52mm lens to 58mm filter) the step up ring makes it slightly harder to turn at specific points. However, that probably say more about the step up ring than this filter. The F-Pro version reduces about 1 and 1/3rd stops of light. So you can use this as a 1 stop ND filter too.Other than that the color is amazing, Polarization is amazing and I am extremely happy I paid premium for this over a $20 filter._______________________________________________________________________________________________When it comes to counterfeits. I'd like to point something out for those who are worried. If you look at all the reviews submitted through Amazon concerning B+W Counterfeit filters. All of them. And I mean all of them going back almost a decade, are Always related to theXS-PRO (Slim Mount) version. Not the F-Pro version. If you are looking to avoid counterfeit B+W filters on Amazon get the F-Pro version. There are no documented cases of counterfeit F-Pro.B+W also has an authenticity checker on their website.Google "Schneider Kreuznach authenticity check".Keep in mind the country you bought the filter from Amazon on for the authenticity check country. If you purchased from .De Amazon, select Germany. If you purchased from .co.uk select UK.If you purchased from Amazon US select USetc. You won't regret spending money on a quality filter like this.

Very effective in very bright outdoor conditions.
I have been doing amateur photography for quite some time now and like many other people got caught up in buying more gear in the hopes that it would make my photography better. As time passes you realize that the gear doesn't make the picture the photographer's skills make the picture. Having said that there are some things that do make a difference if not only in the workflow. I did a lot of research on different filters and I finally decided to bite the bullet and get this circular polarizer filter. So, what did this filter do for me? It really helped my daytime outdoor photos "pop" for sure, but it also helped to cut down on my post processing workflow. How did it decrease workflow? It helps out on scenes with a very large dynamic range. I can adjust exposure better and get details in the clouds that I wasn't able to get before. Rotating the filter changes the "intensity" of the effect I get especially in the sky and in reflective surfaces. I get more visible details in the OUTDOOR photos that I take. The details are especially noticed on bright sunny days. This filter will NOT help you inside or on very cloudy days so be aware of that.I would suggest making sure that you KNOW that you need this filter before you buy. B+W filter are some of the best around and they are about the most expensive around as well. I do consider it an investment but only a worthwhile investment if you will actually use it.

Changed my photography game
First of all I've moved over completely to B+W (mostly) and some Hoya. I'm selling my Tiffen's for cheap on LetGo. The quality difference between higher end filters is noticeable. Everything from the weight, feel, clarity, and picture quality. I was getting too much ghosting at various angles with the Tiffens. Now, regarding a CP filter. I've been shooting behind class or reflective surfaces (like classic cars) much more. I wanted a quality filter for tomorrow's classic car show. As soon as I got this I started shooting with it in bright sunlight and I don't know how I went without every using a CP filter in the past. Maybe that's one of the reasons I never cared for my car pictures in the past. Just like a polarized pair of sunglasses a CP filter ultimately absorbs the reflection. When shooting cars the nice paint on the cars will not all have the same mirror look, you will be able to see the actual color of the paint. While I have not compared Tiffen CP filters to B+W CP filters, I have compared Tiffen UV to B+W and B+W is much better. I didn't want to take any risks and I have no problem paying for a higher quality product. I knocked it down one star for value for money because the price is higher than it needs to be, yet it is the best filter out there so it is what it is. I'm happy.

Works with Sony RX100 VII (M7)
Love this filter. I use it on my Sony RX100 VII with Kamerar MagFilter 55mm Threaded Adapter Ring. It shows slight vignetting at 24mm (the widest lens setting). Vignetting goes away from 28mm and up. There is no vignetting when shooting photos at 16:9 or 16:9 video at any focal length.

Quality CPL!!
I read some of the reviews and was worried about the possibility of receiving a knock off. When my package arrived, I knew by the weight this was a genuine B+W filter (brass weight, gold lettering). Just to be sure, I checked the manufacturer authenticity website and entered the code to double check.I then proceeded to put it a test at night, which you can see in my image of my tempered glass window of the watercooled PC. Without filter, there is a reflection of my monitor. With the filter, turned appropriately, the reflection is gone! The filter itself fits my RF 28-70mm F2 perfectly, and the dial turns freely as needed. The lens hood fits on both ways as well.Amazon also shipped this same day! Extremely happy with this purchase!
