I cook for a large family and yes it is slightly slower when using all the zones but I find this is not a problem. It heats up the contents so much faster anyway than our previous hob. A few seconds wont make much difference. I was a bit worried when I read some of the reviews but jumped in and wow it's so good. It heats our pressure cooker over twice as fast as the old hob.
