Reframing Organizations, 6th Edition: Artistry, Choice, and Leadership

Reframing organisations is a powerful book, for those of us who are trying to reshape an orgasanition to make it more productive and sustainable. My research field is organisational sustainability and I found this book a great step down to the right path to make organisations sustainables. I found quite interesting the way the authors have pin pointed clearly the different frames(structure, human resources, symbolism and politics) through which one can reframe the organisation according to the context.On the other hand, the book provides insightful ideas on how to go about managing organisations by developing leadership skills such as knowing what is going on, how to balance power and deal with politics issues... I strongly recommend this book for managers and leaders!!!

This review is more about the quality of the book binding than a reflection of the book itself and it's authors. I actually have enjoyed reading the book, other than the fact that it fell apart, literally, around the second chapter. Other than the fat that I had to juggle multiple loose pages as I was reading, it was a well-written text on organizational leadership filled with lots of real-life examples and anecdotes. Had the bookbinding been better, I would have liked to keep this book in my library for years to come.

The book is awesome, but the binding is loose. Prices nice for rental, but the binding is poor. It was loose when I received it, which is a standard complaint with this publication.

When I Initially got the book, I was thrilled because it looked good compared to previous rentals I have received from other companies. It had a few dings but nothing big. Upon doing my reading throughout the semester using this book I discovered that someone who previously had it wrote in it and that one page was missing (Jump from page 118 to page 121 in photo above). The notes weren't bothersome or long but still there and I don't think I missed the concept of that chapter that the one page was missing out of but would still like to know what I missed. Overall great book in a decent condition.

I noticed when read that pgs. 70-78 and 79-86 were missing. And then I noticed there was a page numbered 86 and then the page right after was 71??????? It was bizarre and the book makes no sense because of it. I reordered thinking it was just my copy BUT THE NEXT ONE HAD THE EXACT SAME MISSING PAGES! It’s an AWFUL PRINT! DO NOT BUY!!!!! Now I’m behind a homework assignment because the pages I needed are not there. TERRIBLE

Brand new out of the box the book is damaged at the binding and in danger to fall apart. Not acceptable for a new book that cost $44.99.

The actual content of the book has been fine so far, however, there are several smudges and printing issues, including a jump from page 69 to page 79-86, then back to page 71. I just saw another review where something similar occurred later in the book. This is the only one I've come across so far, so I hope it stays that way!

After page 69, it's page 79. After page 86, it's page 71. After page 78, it's page 87. Pages are so incorrectly in order. There might be more not in order in the book that I am not going to go through. I am returning it. Also, the audible book has 22 chapters and this book only has 20 chapters.

Trying to get emotional intelligence into your workforce without push back? This book will help your leaders find balance in all the four frames. Bolman and Deal do a great job of helping organisations managers learn to see with more than just instinct.

J'ai commandé ce livre parce que sa lecture est obligatoire dans le cadre d'un cours universitaire. Je ne peux pas juger encore de son contenu mais pour un livre à plus de 100$, le papier est de très mauvaise qualité. On voit au travers et impossible d'anoter le texte sans que ça paraisse l'autre côté. À ce prix la moindre des choses est de produire un objet de qualité.

This book is rubbish. I would return it if I could but that window is closed. Bolman and Deal use 500 pages cut from a tree to provide nothing more than fluff. I waited patiently for the real meat to arrive but it was all lettuce and onions.They could probably pare this book down to <100 pages and still be beating around the bush. Oh and in the introduction they like liken Bill Clinton to Adolf Hitler! This was one of the most expensive books on my university reading list and thus far is the WORST value.Going to call Amazon tomorrow morning and beg for a refund.. kind of feel like I was ripped off.

I ordered this book as a university course required text and wow, it arrived more quickly than expected and happens to be full of amazing information! Thank you Amazon for having something at less than half the cost that was being charged by the University bookstore!

This "new" book arrived with red marks all over the front cover... looked used. Annoying when you buy a brand new book you want it to look perfect.
