WORKPRO 2-Pair Vise Jaw Pads 6 inch & 5.5 inch, Magnetic Vice Jaw Covers Protectors, 5-1/2 inch Multi-Groove Jaw Pads and 6 inch Aluminum Pads Set

I have several vises of different sizes and I like the Workpro pads for each. These pads make every vise more usable for multiple items you would not want to crush or mar. Sometimes the magnets detach from the pad, but a bit of glue ( I recommend E6000) will bond it again.

I use these soft jaws mostly on a 5 inch vise. The plastic one's face design does a good job gripping a variety of shapes, particularly rounds. The plastic is very slippery, and on the soft side, so it can be difficult to put enough force to adequately hold some items. While I haven't used the flat aluminum(blue) pair yet, the design of these look like they will do a great job of gripping flat sided things without scratching them up. Ideally, I would like to see a pair shaped like the plastic ones made from aluminum or better yet, brass.

Works as should. Magnets are not the strongest but for the price it’s a good setup.

They came quickly (next day) are good value, and appear well made. However, when I went to test the aluminum jaw set, I found that one of them "rocked" considerably on the vice jaw. It wouldn't sit flat and square. I found that two of the little magnets that are press-fit (and presumably also glued) into the aluminum were raised up 1/16th above the surface, while the other 4 magnets were properly seated flat. The raised magnets cause the "rockiness". I tried hammering (with a properly sized punch) the magnets into place; didn't budge. So then I used a rotary file to grind them down flush, so now they seat properly. Sure, I could've sent them back instead but the "fix" was easy enough. Still, it shows a flaw in the manufacture or quality control that you might want to be aware of. And so giving this 3 stars.

I purchased set of jaw vices for a 5-1/2" Yost 855-D2 vice. The sets measure 6", so sets provide 1/4" added protection on each side when centered. The NON rare earth magnets are "strong enough," and can be scooched as needed when clamping a project. I have not any issues with them being accidentally knocked off. The pads are made of really nice and appropriate materials. The flat (diamond pattern) pad appears to be hard rubber, similar to a car tire. Hard, but soft enough to protect your work. The grooved jaws may be a similar material, rubbery, but possibly lean more towards being a Delrin like material. - What ever they are, both are really nice. I expect a long service life from both sets.
