Some experts recommend against adding vitamin c drops to water because it makes it harder to measure how much of the supplement your guinea pig is consuming, it can alter the taste of the water in a way that some guinea pigs might not like, and vitamin c breaks down when exposed to light so it can become less effective if left in a clear water bottle.I still prefer this product over other options primarily for it's ease of use. If you change your guinea pig's water regularly (daily or every other day) then you get a pretty good idea of how much of the supplement they're consuming. The primary concern is that they get enough vitamin C so they don't get scurvy. Excess vitamin C just gets expelled through urine, but that shouldn't be a concern unless you're over supplementing. If your guinea pig is drinking a normal amount of water and you've added these drops as directed then you're in the clear. Regularly changing the water also avoids inactivating the vitamin C since light exposure is minimized.The altered flavor of the water hasn't been an issue for my guinea pig. When I used a different product to supplement with a dose of vitamin C directly into my guinea's mouth with a syringe he rejected it so water supplementation was definitely the way to go.I recommend a smaller water bottle so you don't waste supplementing a large amount of water. It also makes adding the correct number of drops easy. I use an 11-ounce water bottle so I know that I need to add 22 drops every time I change it. One bottle of this lasts about 5 months.Great price and easy to use makes this an easy choice and an easy 5 stars.

Just a few drop in my guinea pigs water last a while! I put I two of the water bottle and one I keep plain fresh water but they always drink the one with the vitamins all gone. It definitely keeps them happy and healthy.

We purchase this quite often for our guinea pigs. We add this to their water to make sure they're getting the perfect amount of vitamin C their little bodies need. It works wonders for them and helps keep them healthy and happy. They love the taste of it. You get the perfect amount in this size bottle, to last approximately a month or longer per each bottle filling. It helps keep their skin and coats healthy too. It is more affordable to order on here than any other store. Definitely recommend.

UPDATE: I know inflation is rampant, but it's generally cited at hovering around 10%. Oasis took this as an opportunity to gouge us for a 50% price hike (3.99 to 6 bucks). Ouch! At this price, Childlife vitamin C vials are a much better deal and since you give it to your piggies directly, it won't dissipate the vitamin C in a single day as this product does.ORIGINAL REVIEW: Every expert advice I've come across says to eschew this product in favor of Childlife Vitamin C drops. (That's an awesome product that I also use). The reason usually given is that the cavies will go without both Vitamin C and water if they don't like it and that's clearly bad. That's true, but all 5 of mine prefer it over plain filtered water. I've done many tests using one bottle of good ol' H2O and another adjacent one with this mixed in as directed on the label. Every time, the fortified water bottle would empty first (yes, I've tried switching them to eliminate spatial bias).The biggest negative with this product is that according to the label, the vitamin c dissipates and is no longer effective. Having to dump out a lot of unused diluted product is wasteful but not to the point of deducting more than one star for this because you can learn the quantity of water your piggies drink per day and only provide a bit more than that (this is what I do).

Purchased for my Guinea pig he loves it and it’s a great source of vitamins to keep our little buddy healthy!

Best value for the money. A must for guine pigs. The product lasts a long time, a few drops is all you need for the water bottle.Will only buy this brand. When the product is available at the lowest price, on Amazon, buy it!
