Review: A cool gadget must-have - This 100-piece assortment of heatsinks is like a tiny, metallic first-aid kit for your electronics. It's the ultimate collection for anyone who's ever worried about their precious chips spontaneously combusting. With eight different sizes, it's a bit like they're saying, "We don't know what you're overheating, but we've got you covered." I used them all over my amplifier motherboard... and now she is cool as a cucumber. These little guys are surprisingly effective. They attach easily to your components, like miniature chrome hats, and wick away heat like tiny, diligent superheroes. You might even find yourself checking on your formerly scorching devices, only to find them cool and serene, perhaps even a little smug. The sheer quantity is almost comical. 100 pieces! It's enough to cool a small server farm, or at least every Raspberry Pi you own. You'll probably end up with a lifetime supply, leading to unexpected uses. ("Honey, have you seen my earrings? Oh, wait, never mind, they're just tiny heatsinks.") If you're into DIY electronics, overclocking, or just have a general fear of things getting too hot, this set is a must-have.
Review: Nice quality and adhesives for the price - The adhesive is great, and they work as well as you’d want tiny little heatsinks to.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can the heatsinks help cool my raspberry pi 4 from 100°f down to something like 80°f?**
A: You must mean Celsius, not Fahrenheit. And it entirely depends on the situation, your ambient temperature, and how hard the Pi is being used. The only real way to know for your situation is to try it. I'd recommend removing (scraping off) the thermal pad and just using a small amount of thermal paste (about 1/4 of a green pea). I've had no issues with the heatsink sliding off, even mounted vertically.

**Q: how strong is the adhesive tape? with heat, will it stay for a long time?**
A: I haven't had one fail yet. Taking them off one raspberry pi 3b+ I was worried it would damage the chip. So the adhesive is pretty strong.

**Q: Does this heat sink work on google fiber multi-gig router sfp on 10g port? it is very hot to touch (fiber to 10g ethernet port)**
A: A heat sink should work but I would make sure the case has proper air slow. Get all wires ried for proper.

**Q: How hard is it to remove these if needed to?**
A: Unsure. Shouldn't be too hard. Could tear it off pretty cleanly with fingers and use a solvent (isopropyl alcohol or acetone maybe) to squeaky clean the residual adhesive. It's not a super adhesive but fairly tacky. I pulled it off cleanly to rearrange it without problem but with heat and time that could change.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Kit for light to medium repairs (note about the adhesive in review)

I used a couple of the 14x14x1mm shims on an RX6400. These Shims did not do much in dropping temps during heavy usage, maybe 2C to 3C however; I did notice a significant increase in how fast it cooled down going from heavy usage to idle. (note: Thermal Paste was replaced aswell) Before the card on cold boot -averaging around 45c to 50c -under load peaked at 83C and junction temp was 90c -After heavy usage and it cooling down to idle and very low usage would hover in the high 60s low 70s which i did not like seeing. -light work and continued use would stay around 67c After thermal paste and copper shims -averaging around 42C - 47C -under load peaked at 80-83C So there was not much of a huge change there -The Heavy use and then cooling down to idle at this point is where it made the wild difference. It would take less then 8 seconds to go from 83C and plunge down to 65C and then slowly taper off around high 50s and then eventually go back to high 40s! so not to shabby! The few grams made the difference in cutting time down the to fraction it was taking originally to see Temps drop down after gaming or heavy use. I think if i had added these shims under the shroud would have benefited more then near the Die because of the air contact they would have being where the fan is (the shroud is part of the heatsink). This is really not the best way to try to drop temps as i believe the type of card i have would benefit having at least 2 more flat copper pipes to really make a difference The 2nd project faired far better. I Added a Copper shim and paste to the southbridge heatsink on an old Gigabyte motherboard i was refurbishing. That had made a huge difference. Southbridge ran hot and would shutdown even with a light overclock, or i would periodically see that my computer had restarted and reset BIOS to default from a hardware failure. After the mod, that whole issue went away and my overclock has been stable ever since! I dont have a before temp. reading. For after: temps peaked around 50-55C but never went above that. idle temp saw a 22C-25C. 3rd project was a Dell Latitude 7480 where i used 5 of the 14x14 shims and one 12x12 engraved shim (i thought it was a nice touch) to try and moderate the temps for the i7 6600U. Junction TDP is 100C and i had seen it almost hit the mark Before Shims: -Fan would be on blast and almost full power -Idle - 50-56C -Load - Peaked around 94-95C average 82C -Average jumped around from 78C - 85C moderate use Thermal Throttling and would not hold the 3.2 turbo boost After Shims: -Fan does not ramp up to full blast, will turn on but is more of a mild blast. -Idle around 35C - 41C -Load Peaked at 85C Average 74C -Average temp 68C - 72C moderate use The laptop saw a huge improvement in thermals dropping -10 to -15 degrees and the system feels alittle more stable This is an inexpensive pack to get for any light to mid repairs and projects. I know this pack is geared for Raspberry Pi systems, but the sizes i was looking for were all here in this package that works great for any other project i needed them for. happy with them! the adhesives are the weak part of this. They do ok and they adhere fine but if you are needing to readjust or end up making a miscalculation on placement and need to move these, the adhesive will rip and come up or start to separate from the heatsinks. I guess that can be something to be thankful in they are forgiving in that regard but do know the fragile tape will be a little mangled. Adding thermal pads with adhesion would do a lot better then tape alone. Pick up some better thermal tape with these or for a more permanent solution, go for thermal glue
