Topical collection of songs perfect for the times we're living in.
Bon Jovi remains one of the few groups from the era of 80's metal still making music-and I've gotta say they're still doing a great job. Some of their more recent albums even rival those early classics in my opinion.2020 resonates with me not only for the catchy melodies, but for the topics it covers-delving into everything from the current Coronavirus climate & George Floyd tragedy to mass shootings and so much more. I'm not gonna lie, I got a little choked up when Dayton, Ohio is referenced among the many mass shootings named in one of the songs, since that one in particular is close to home for me.This won't be to everyone's liking as it is a much more mellow Bon Jovi than we've seen yet, but it appealed to me in a different way and-given what a complicated year 2020 has been, I think someone needed to put something out like this. The song "American Reckoning" alone makes this worth a purchase.Another A+ Bon Jovi release in my book.

Bon Jovi 20/20 CD
As usual, this CD didn't miss a step. It was written & recorded @ a period in time that we definitely needed it. Bon Jovi is an an amazing band that doesn't miss in time of need.

Slow, thoughtful, mature, JBJ is all grown up
And like most of us had a hard year: 2020.Having been to a JBJ concert where he gave his all and then some, I found these songs mature and lyrical. All the reviewers that expected noise, rhythm and beat, were disappointed. I read a half dozen reviews before I put fingers to keys.In general fans are very low key with opinions. I have listened to the CD just once to know if it is "car material". It is not. It is a disk to be listened to, words and music, to be appreciated. 4 stars because some songs were monotonous and could have been more melodic.Nevertheless I am NOT disappointed with my purchase.

A Testimony to How Far Jon Bon Jovi Has Come as a Person
On the one hand, this album is definitely different from the Bon Jovi of old. On the other hand, it should be! That is, Jon was 22 when he made his first album, and now he's 2 years shy of turning 60. Any almost-60-year-old whose priorities are the same as when he was 4 years out of high school is certainly a questionable individual. On the contrary, as one ages, one SHOULD go through a maturing process concerning what's really important in life and in the world. And this album is a testimony that Jon has really gone through such a maturation over the years. He's undoubtedly one of the most decent people in the entire music/movie industry, and that really comes through from the deep and beautiful lyrics on this album. And make no mistake - it IS also musically a great album, except that it's admittedly a significantly different style of music than the BJ albums of the more-distant past (though not very different than the style of "This House is Not For Sale" - another great album regarding which the above praises can similarly be applied).

It's not lost highway
When I listen to a new cd from a band or singer I listen to it in the car driving and bon jovi 2020 is no different. Reading reviews saying its country or like lost highway or he needs Sambora back is people's opinions. I gave it 5 stars cause I liked it first listen. I don't think its lost highway there is one song "do what you can" that could be on lost highway the rest can't. The song blood on the water has a guitar solo that you could think its Ritchies playing (my opinion) like I said it's not lost highway if I have to pick it's more like "what about now" but more acoustic and song topics are more social.

You need to listen.
Through the last four years, the pandemic, all of the mass shootings I’ve wondered, where’s Dylan? Growing up, he wrote about this kind of stuff. Well, I still don’t know where Dylan is, but I have heard a new voice of social conscience. Bon Jovi.My favorite is Lower the Flag, a commentary on mass gun killings in this country. While that’s my favorite, I like all of the songs. When I read reviews about Bon Jovi has lost range in his voice, I simply wonder why the writer does not listen to the words. The words are there. To me, his voice fits them perfectly.Although I’m a Jersey guy, I was never in to Bon Jovi. But, trying 2020 made me a believer.
