PropperMen's Tactical Short

Perfect length, great tactical shorts
I was concerned these would be too long or low quality, but they're not either. They are well built and hold-up under some pretty extreme use conditions. They are the right length if riding a bicycle and very comfortable. The cargo pockets are velcro and easily accessible, yet secure. The pockets are well sewn and I'm not worried about losing a seam and having things fall out of my pockets as seems to happen with lower quality shorts. The only complaint I could possibly make is that the upper pocket on the left hand side is very short and small. Even an ink pen sticks out the top of the pocket, making it somewhat unuseable for anything except keys or small items. Overall, definitely recommended!

Great Shorts with the features of the Tactical Pants
I own 4 pairs of the Propper Heavy Duty Tactical Pants.I Love them. They repel stains, they don't need to be ironed and they are very heavy duty. These are short versions. with all the same features of the tactical pants (well, without the reinforced knees, of course).Heavy duty Snap closure with comfort elastic waistband, Deep pockets, cargo pockets with Velcro closures, giant rear pockets, a flashlight/knife/pepper spray pocket, a hidden pocket, a D-ring, heavy duty belt loops.

Definitely not like the pants
I have 5 pairs of the Proper tactical pants in 36/36 (in case you couldn't tell, I REALLY like them). These, however, did not fit at all like the pants.I have a 36" waist, and while the pants are great, these were WAY too tight. The pockets are smaller, and the length is....lacking. I'm 6'4", and these came down about half way to my knees. Also, the overall cut is a lot tighter than the pants. I have massive thighs, and while the pants are nice and loose, these shorts pinch right below the waist. Not exactly what I was expecting, given the exceptional quality of the pants.

Good Shorts
Nice tactical style shorts, useful pockets. Wish this was offered in one or two more colors like, dark/charcoal.

Well made, some good thought behind them.
I work on boats and bikes where shorts are approved for duty, so this review is as much to do with placement of features as it is with the quality. First and foremost, these shorts are great quality for the price. They are made with heavy weight ripstop material. The inseam is 9 inches. I measured them and this fact is also stated on the company website. I like the pockets, particularly the "phone" or magazine pocket placement, because it does not overlap the cargo pocket. Speaking of pockets, the front pockets have a thick, well sewn and textured fabric that will keep a pocket holster from rotating and flipping around. They are also large and deep. I buy a couple sizes up to carry IWB and the elastic band is a nice feature for this. It makes them wearable without a belt if I am not carrying IWB, but the waist opens up nicely when I am.My dislikes are as follows:- Two hook and loop closures on the cargo pockets make one-handed access difficult- and loud.- Too long of an inseam at 9" and leg openings are huge. Most people would think this statement is crazy. I purchased a 36" waist so I can carry IWB. This cut as a 5'7" person makes for a LOT of extra leg room and the shorts cover my knees when standing. The extra fabric just means more to get caught up on the boats or bike so I may see if a tailor can take them in a bit.- The opening to the front pockets could be a little bit larger. With large hands, the openings make it difficult to draw from the pocket, even with the smallest 380 on the market. If the front belt loops were moved forward, the angle of the opening could be decreased, and leave more room to get hands and whatever is in them in and out. I would also like to see "clip area" reinforcement on the left side like there is on the right. I personally keep my pen light and clipped key on my reactionary side, and also not everyone is right handed.- Only 5 belt loops, which could be fine, but there is a large span of space on the sides where it is just the elastic material (11 inches between loops when the waist is fully stretched out). Again going back to carrying (tactical shorts) this could lead to a lack of support for an OWB holster, or even that sag of the shorts from the belt with an IWB.Take the info, but consider my review of 4 stars. These shorts are extremely sturdy and have a lot of thought into them. The things I noted are based on personal preferences, but they may help you in making your decision. I will re-review down the road to comment on fading and durability.

Sturdy shorts
I was issued the long pants version of these for work and bought some shorts on my own. I knew what I was getting, but these are not exactly lightweight - they're heavy duty nylon or nylon blend, and that's fine with me. The belt loop placement makes them good for carrying various items on a belt.

very good quality
I love these shorts. I work security for a hospital and wear these shorts when I ride our bicycle. Very comfortable and have plenty of pockets. The size is perfect. They repel water and stay clean and they do not wrinkle. I highly recommend these shorts.

Too Small
These are sized smaller than the tag says.I have several pairs of the Propper Kinetic pants in 36 and those fit fine. These shorts are also a 36 and I can barely do the snap to close. Once it closes, it just pops open again so they're like a size smaller than the actual size on the tag.

Good quality.
I like them wish they came with a button instead of a snap good quality.
