The instructions included could be a lot better, and the sensor does NOT come with a cord. Mine had a 230v sticker on it as well, which led to more confusion, and i ordered a 110 to 220 converter as well (it was not needed). I attched a cord as seen in the pics. When you plug it into the wall, the led blinks 2 times and does not stay lit (its not supposed to stay lit). The absolute simplest way to program the sensor to the motor for me was as follows. 1. Have your remote for the motor handy, take off back cover. 2. Extend the awning a bit or all the way with the remote, it dose not matter how far. 3. Unplug awning for at least 10 seconds. 4. Plug in motor and sensor into 110 connection, you will hear a beep from the motor and sensor led will blink twice. 5. Within 6 seconds of the beep click program button on the remote two times. You will hear a beep confirmation. 6. Click the program button on the sensor, you will hear a beep. Its done. 7. To confirm the programing, click up button on sensor and awning will roll back. You should program the sensor to the motor first and then mount it. Thank you Aleko for the quick shipping and quickly answering my questions. Review: You have to wire it yourself and pairing instructions are not perfect - This does not attach to the awning it acts as a second remote that can be far away to extend in the sun and retract in the wind. No rain meter. You need to supply your own plug. I used an old computer cord it is only a 2 prong plug. Remote pairing is not the best as my awning remote did not have a p1 button only a p2 button but it works. Of course it’s cloudy and windless so I’ll update it as of accuracy when the weather changes ## Features - Protect your motorized awning with ALEKO's Wind and Sun Sensor to automatically retract and open your awning based on the weather - When winds are strong, your awning will automatically close to protect itself - Once sunshine returns, the sensor will trigger your motor to open your awning so your outdoor space will be kept cool and shady - Includes Wired Wind/Sun Sensor, mounting screws, and instructions - Power: 110V/60Hz ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B008O5E086 | | Best Sellers Rank | #95,860 in Patio, Lawn & Garden ( See Top 100 in Patio, Lawn & Garden ) #73 in Patio Awnings | | Brand | ALEKO | | Brand Name | ALEKO | | Color | White | | Customer Reviews | 3.9 out of 5 stars 157 Reviews | | Item Dimensions D x W x H | 10"D x 1.25"W x 4"H | | Manufacturer | ALEKO | | Manufacturer Part Number | AWSS-FBM | | Material | Plastic | | Material Type | Plastic | | Model Number | AWSS | | Number of Items | 1 | | Operation Mode | Automatic | | Pattern | Solid | | Product Dimensions | 10"D x 1.25"W x 4"H | | Size | Sensor | | Style | Modern | | Style Name | Modern | | UPC | 655222804112 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** ALEKO - **Color:** White - **Material:** Metal, Plastic - **Product Dimensions:** 10"D x 1.25"W x 4"H - **Size:** Sensor ## Images ![ALEKO Awning Wind-Sun Sensor for Retractable Patio Awning | 110V AC | AWSS - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61w5cRYLexL.jpg) ![ALEKO Awning Wind-Sun Sensor for Retractable Patio Awning | 110V AC | AWSS - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61Zu3FfBI+L.jpg) ![ALEKO Awning Wind-Sun Sensor for Retractable Patio Awning | 110V AC | AWSS - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/512wA3jif2L.jpg) ![ALEKO Awning Wind-Sun Sensor for Retractable Patio Awning | 110V AC | AWSS - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61UCC+HBmsL.jpg) ![ALEKO Awning Wind-Sun Sensor for Retractable Patio Awning | 110V AC | AWSS - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41eQCJ17RlL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Can this be programmed just for the wind only?** A: The answer from Jane is not correct. You don't program the wind and light sensors separately. There are dial settings for both, to increase or decrease the sensitivity. The only programming that gets done is to pair any and all remotes to the motor drive unit on the awning. **Q: Will this Wind-Sun Sensor work for my Sunsetter brand retractable awning?** A: Likely not. **Q: Is wireless unit will work with any kind of motorized awning? how to connect !Thank you, Michel** A: It will work wireless with only Aleko motor. Thanks. **Q: Can you attach more than one shade to the sensor?** A: The install manual is in a link above. It is in bad broken English but it looks like you can pair up to 20 shades to the sensor (if I'm reading it correctly). ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Super Easy To Setup, Once You Figure It Out. *by A***A on July 1, 2016* You will see good and bad reviews for this item.
