Not for ME!!
If you like a simple task type game where you drag and drop things onto the screen and then sit back and watch the action you might like it..for me I got bored with it in a hurry. I tried to play it for several nights but ended up falling asleep while playing it instead..I think for the younger child or for someone to play fro 10 minutes a day it might be alright but for longer periods you might find that it get boring... You really don't get to do and awful lot other than drag the diapers to the ogres, drag to tub, drag out toys, hammers, balls etc. Like I said, mostly a drag and drop game...If you are happy and satisfied with this type of game it might be a good one for you, but not for me...

Shrek the third: Ogres and Donkey's DS game Very cute and fun game!
See I'm autistic so for me I have to get games that aren't real real hard like legend of Zelda I could never play that type of game in a million years so I bought the Baby Pals DS game a month or 2 ago and absolutely adored it and so I went looking for something very similiar to that type of game play so I found this game on amazon. I figured I watched all the shrek movies and liked them so when I saw the preview on amazon for this game I was really impressed. I bought the game and I really am still enjoying it considering I've only had the game for a couple of days now but I'm glad I bought this game it's very challenging it makes you think plus there are lots of stuff to explore in the game. Oh and you can't name the babies your only babysitting them and teaching them new stuff to learn everyday. The ogres names are:1. Ogre Jr2. Ogre Girl3. Ogre BoyThe donkeys names are:1. Bananas2. Debbie3. Peanut4. Parfait5. Cocoput it to you this way if ever seen the rugrats show on Nickeloedon this game is sort of like that cartoon show. Personally after I bought the Baby Pals game I was just really impressed and wanted another baby game to play. But yeah this is a very fun game I would recommend this game for anyone so if you like shrek and you like babies then get this game you'll have tons of fun with this game.

love it
Fun games for any Shrek fans. It is a bit tough though for little ones as this game requires a bit of reading and the games are hard to understand but they don't mind...

Off the beaten path for Shrek, but still enjoyable nonetheless.
The Shrek Video Games have always been about action and adventure. They usually follow the storylines of the film, or branch out into new and exciting areas (Shrek for Xbox). Ogres and Dronkeys offers a different form of gaming. Instead of taking the Big Ogre to the streets of Far Far Away or other lands, the player gets to stay at home and raise Shrek's Ogre babies and the Dronkeys (Dragona and Donkey's babies). The little babies really do steal the show in the game. The game is basically a watered down version of Nintendogs. During the game, you're responsible for taking care of the babies and keeping them happy: playing with them, cleaning their ears or hair, bathing them, feeding them and *gulp* changing diapers. Unlike Nintendogs, however, each game is self contained and there is no pressure to go back every day and play if you have other things to do.At first, the babies do little more than wave to the screen and fall asleep. This is where toys and "new concepts" are introduced. As the babies learn to interact with their toys (kick blocks, pile up blocks, talk to dolls), they gain points. These points can be used in the store to buy new toys and food for the babies to interact with and eat. There are also outdoor areas where you can take the babies and control them in a manner similar to Pokemon Ranger or Six Flags Fun Park. These areas will also feature other Shrek Characters that open up mini-games for the babies to play. To me, the minigames are kind of boring and in one case, buggy. That being said, they are fun little diversions to playing with the babies. If you're a younger gamer or if you're looking for a game similar to Nintendogs or Disney Friends, then this one is for you.

Good 1st game for younger gamers
My daughter is 7 and has dyslexia therefore she isn't reading yet and can't enjoy a lot of the DS games because of it. The Ogres & Dronkeys is a game that doesn't require reading and is good to introduce kids to electronic games or for little girls that like babies. :-)You are the babysitter for the babies. You have to "teach" the babies how to do things and earn points. When the babies do something for the 1st time you get 1 point. If they do something from a list of specific skills for the 1st time, you get 10 points. With the points, you can purchase items from the store to buy more toys for them to learn to play with and get more points...There are many mini games and different locations to go to.

Alot of reading to do, in order to advance
Other reviews on here..... implied that there was not a lot of reading within this game, so I bought it for my almost 5 year old child. The game itself is cute, but there is a lot of reading to do in order to advance. Dont buy for a child that is in the 4-6 year range. I do recommend Shrek Carnival Craze DS for that age group.
