All of the wonderful music that I remember once again belongs to me. The first song I ever heard was when I was a senior in high school in 1964. It was 'Some Enchanted Evening'. From that moment on, I was a Mantovani fan. His music is timeless and so appreciated.

Beautiful Music

This is a wonderful CD.. My 89 year old Mother, loves it.

Marvelous. Enjoyed this immensely. Very beautiful music. Not much I can say that would compliment this enough. This makes the fourth CD I have of his music.

What a pleasant surprise when I listened to this double CD set. Mantovani never sounded as good. Decca has done a terrific job remastering this material - often this process can be poorly executed. A word of caution for potential buyers of Mantovani recordings - always try to buy CDs from the original label (in this case Decca) and avoid other labels which often are quite inferior to the original recordings. And always ensure that you buy only CDs with Mantovani himself conducting.

国内盤でマントヴァーニ楽団の素晴らしさを知ったら、次はアレコレ迷わず当CDを買いましょう。あるいはこれを最初に買ってもよいくらいです。18番目に収録されている「Goodnight Sweetheart」がうっとりand涙が出るほど素晴らしい曲で、この曲目当てで私は当CDを買いました。マントヴァーニ楽団は、英DEccaがポピュラー音楽において、初めてステレオ録音に採用した楽団だそうです。モノラルの時代から録音音質はもう完璧だったので、あとはマイク数本のミキシングでステレオ化されたテープデッキに録音するだけ。よって、他の方のレビューにもあるように、もう音質が凄まじく良いです。

いつもはジャズやクラシックばかり聞いていますが、マントバーニーのストリングスの美しさに久々に聴き入りました。このステレオ感とエレガントさは、マントバーニーならではです。コンポやカーステレオで聴くと、包まれるような快感にひたれます。正直ここまで録音がいいとは思いませんでした。スマホやパソコンのミニスピーカーで楽しんでいる方は、一度オーディオセットのあるお店で体験してみてください。体で聴くイージーリスニング音楽の魅力を発見すると思います。芸術性やメッセージ性がなくても、いい音楽は美しい音を奏でるだけで十分です。ジャズやクラシックの演奏だけがエバーグリーンじゃないですね。このCDを聴いてそう思いました。
