Normally, I tie my laces together behind the tongue of my shoes, but on a new pair that I got it was just too uncomfortable having that knot there (and it also pushed the tongue forward and made it look a little weird. So I thought I'd give these a shot. The Zubits magnetic shoe closures definitely give that clean look, and they hold together TIGHT (I like it that way, you could lace them up looser if that's your thing). They look great (surprisingly unobtrusive, most people don't even notice them) and they hold firm- I've never had them accidentally come undone. In the promo video, they have people stepping on the heels of the shoes and rocking your foot forward as a way to disengage these ridiculously strong magnets. I don't like the idea of scuffing up the backs of my shoes, so this was a no-go for me. But, I've found that if you firmly grab the tongue of the shoe and pull it in the direction of the toe, they pop right open. Super convenient, they look great, and they definitely work as advertised. The product is top notch and I presume that using these will also help preserve my shoe laces, so I won't have to worry about breaking my laces at a very inconvenient time. I will admit, though, at their price point, these may not be worth it to many people (I paid something like 25 bucks for mine) who'd rather just tie their shoes old-fashioned-like, but I personally think they're worth every penny. These may even be useful for people who prefer Velcro (which would normally limit your shoe choices) or people who have some kind of disability that affects the dexterity in their hands, making it difficult to tie shoes regularly. Just a couple thoughts. :) Review: Do your Child's Teach a Favor and Get These! - These are AWESOME! I got these for my son's shoes to stop the constant thing issue as a favor for my son's incredibly sweet teach, really. I know at some point I need to teach my so. How to tie his shoes, but until then, I don't want his teacher to continue to have to be burdened with them. Some reviewers said they didn't come with instructions, but mine did. Super simple to lace on when following the instructions. The magnets are STRONG, and as reviewers also mentioned, they can pinch your fingers...which hurts! To avoid having my son's fingers pinched, I just laces his shoes lose enough where he can slip his shoes on and off without having to open and close the magnets. No biggie. Seriously, these things are absolutely incresibly and I wish they'd been around with my first son! Update: It's been over 6 months since I first purchased these and they're still holding up perfectly! My son hasn't learned how to tie his shoes yet, but he has gone up a size in shoes. I just transferred these to his new shows and they're working absolutely perfectly still! I cannot believe how well these magnets have held up. Still super strong. I'd say that they ONLY downfall with these is that I really don't foresee my son EVER being able to tie his shoes as these are just so convenient and easy to use. It is SO much quicker for him to get his shoes on than me having to tie his the laces every time, or, good gravy, him TRYING to tie them! Lord help us all, LOL! These are just amazing!! One quick thing to consider: You do have to cut the ends of the laces once you've laced these on. Should your child outgrow their shoes and you want to save them as hand--me-downs, you will have to either replace the laces if you're transferring the Zubits to a new pair of shoes, or leave these on and get a new set if you still need them. SO worth it though in my opinion.

A good product, but a bit pricey for my liking
Have been using them for more than 2 months and no complains on it opening up when you walk or any other such complains The price of twenty seemed too high and so I waited for the price to go down and got it for twelve. I bought it for my kids (age 8 and 13) and it fits their shoes right. If you have any difficulty, check the youtube videos on how to fit it. Pros - fits well - Looks good - Magnets are strong - Taking them off and snapping them back is easy - Colors (pink, black and blue) which I got looks good - Serves the purpose for kids in not having to tie their laces everyday morning when they are rushing to catch their bus. Cons - A little tricky on how to lace it. But you will get hang of it if you watch the video and try it - Pricey (maybe because of the quality of the magnet)

Durable, user-friendly, fun
My son has mild special needs. He generally passes as typical, and is in most ways, but certian processes just don't stick well in his head. Shoe-tying is one of them. He's good at figuring it out as he goes, but he has yet to just tie them on autopilot, you know, just going on muscle memory in a few seconds flat. He's almost eleven, and devices like this provide perfect little accomodations to help him keep blending in with his peers pretty seamlessly and keeping up with the crowd. Thanks to things like these, he doesn't have to fumble with laces, and isn't limited to the one or two pairs of tennis shoes in the store in his size (never mind how actually well- built or likeable they are; with these, we can pick any tennis shoe (or any shoe that typically laces for that matter), and just add these. Before, we'd had those rubbery (silicone?) faux laces, which worked nicely, but eventually fell apart whilst attempting to transfer them to their third pair of shoes. I mean, we got our money's worth with them, not bad, but when we needed something new, we wanted to try these because they looked a little more durable for the long term, and my son loved how fun and novel they looked. I read over and over that the magnets are indeed dependably strong. As I ordered them, I hoped it was true. My son is really active and loves distance running, and I sure hoped these would hold up during his races without flying open. Now that he's had them for awhile, I'll add to the crowd in saying that they indeed are very strong, very dependable magnets. Really. Days after they arrived, my son got to test them out while taking on a 5k race he'd been looking forward to. They held up perfectly. They're easy to operate (twist a bit to pop them right open, and once they snap shut, they're definetly staying shut for ya). They have yet to ever fly ooen on him unexpectedly, and they keep his shoes on snugly. As far as being fun amd cool, my son says these were a hit with his 5th grade class; they were really impressed with them and kida gathered around to have turns getting a good look with their little fingers, quite the cool novelty. Also, I might add that we love the variety of colors available. Teal is his favorite, which you have (maybe you call it turquoise...either way, you have the color he likes best), so he was happy for the variety of choices, which meant he could pizzaz his shoes up with that spash of his very, very favorite color, mo compromising. When you're a kid, you know, accessorizing in your favorite color makes even mundane things like shoes more fun. He loves them, and I love they live up to the dependability I hoped to see in them. As a note, I got him the middle stregnth ones. They're easy enough for his small hands, while still being quite hearty enough to withstand his high - energy activity level and distance running hobby. They do take a bit of sit-down time to install them, amd a bit of checking uopon the foot make sure theyre just right, but it's not difficult at all, and once they're in, they're quite securely in place, no having to tinker or adjust later. I think they'll tramsfer to new shoes nicely when the time comes.

The no tying shoe magnets
I found this item on kickstarter a few years ago. They are a great new look to any shoe. They have so many new colors to choose from. Not sure if the rating system for size changed it used to be the strength of the magnets. They seem to still be the same size as before. I think the kids one is a easier magnet to unclip. The larger ones are more for like a work boot able to lace tighter without them unclipping . I have a medium currently for my everyday shoe and for my running shoes. My kids had difficulty getting them unclipped when I first got them ( they were 6-7). They had to use their hands to unsnap them. I just think their legs were not strong enough to unsap them with just the toe on their heel and then move the foot forward. They are now 9-10 and have no issues. They are great for anyone with bad backs and would like to just slip their foot in and slip right out . Works with any shoe or boot. Take time to put them on and make adjustments to the laces start with the mid work up the laces than go back to the toe end and make minor adjustments as needed. Do not cut the ends of the laces till your shoes feel comfortable with the grey clips in place .Super simple . I would highly recommend this product.

Zubits #3 Large Adults/Sports
This review is primarily for the #3 size. I am not a large adult and so purchased these for sports (trail running). They are actually much smaller than I imagined (just under 2" or about 5cm by 1" or about 2.5cm). The magnets are quite strong and difficult to pull apart. I had to twist and then pull. The Zubits feel well constructed and seem as though they will never wear out or break. Zubits could throw a lifetime warranty on these and never worry about any returns. Installing them is rather simple. However, as one other reviewer noted, it is a little tricky getting them really tight. I installed the laces and the magnets very loosely. Once everything was together, I stood in the shoes and tried to tighten the laces. While pulling on the laces, it was easy to pull the magnets apart. After some careful adjusting, I was able to get the laces and Zubits nice and tight. This is where I ran into some issues. Unfortunately, for a tight fit, I don't think the Zubits magnets are any better than tying. While I was able to achieve a tight fit with the Zubits and they seem rather secure, it wasn't much better than tying. I found that with the Zubits on tightly, you have to spend extra time pressing the shoe tongue down and pulling the sides together to get the magnets close enough to close. Putting the Zubits between your fingers and thumb and then squeezing seems to work best, but it does take some fiddling. Manual tying takes just about as long, is continuously adjustable, and is more secure. Taking the shoes off is slightly easier than tying, however. Stepping on your heel and pushing your foot forward and up easily opened the magnets - no need to reach and pull on the laces. Another small issue I had with the Zubits - they don't bend or flex. They are a solid piece of plastic (and metal?); it's a bar snugly attached to the top of your foot. If you need to flex your toe up or squat down, you will feel the Zubits dig into your foot. I'm keeping the Zubits to put on a pair of more casual shoes as the tie is looser and I probably won't need to squat/flex so much in them. I just don't see how these are worth over $20 when they don't work better than tying laces for sports use. The Zubits seem like they'd be an excellent solution for people who have difficulty tying laces and don't like they loosey feeling of elastic laces.

Made my favourite boots my easy go to
I love my hiking boots, they are waterproof well above the ankles and can take on everything from a walk with the dog, to lifting 300 lb motorcycles at the MC Range, to a spirited hike on rocky terrain. But they had one drawback, they are not quick lace and I would have to take out at least three stitches to cram my foot into the shoe, thus I almost never wore them =o(. Enter Zubits, I saw them on a silly YouTube "inventions" thing and said, hey! Why not? And I am honestly very glad I did. Ok Ok, prove I am real while I gush about these things... umm... See Photo. I use two of these so that I can easily slip in and out of this boot. They are sooo quick to get in and out of the boot and have a nice, tight and predictable fit every time I put them on, even if it is just for a quick jump outside. Careful not to get your finger stuck inside when they close, they do pinch, and sometimes these will pinch the fabric underneath. To get them off, you need to twist them. Now, the pinks ones on top are #3's and bottom whites are #2's. I can't really tell the difference in strength, both of them hold just fine. HOWEVER!! Please be advised, noticed that I still tie these off at the top! With the pink ones only, if they are not tied, they do come undone while walking around, the white ones on the bottom do not have this problem. SO please be advised, if these are going above your ankle, TEST that they will not come undone before you cut the ends off at the instructions advise, mine REQUIRE that they be tied and if I had cut them I would have been very very upset. But even with tieing the laces at the top, these boots are soo much more accessible. I would but more, but these are my only lacing shoes and I think these zubits will out last this pair of army surplus boots.

Just amazing
The Magnetic Lacing Solution has been a true lifesaver, especially for children with autism who struggle with traditional shoelaces. I can't emphasize enough how convenient and beneficial these laces are. Kids who may find it challenging to tie their shoes can now effortlessly put on and take off their footwear, fostering a sense of independence and confidence. The magnetic mechanism is a genius invention, ensuring that the shoes stay securely fastened. It eliminates the frustration of knots coming undone or tripping over untied laces. As a parent, I appreciate the quality and durability of this product, knowing it will last. For children with autism, these laces have made mornings less stressful and have given them the freedom to manage their shoes with ease. The Magnetic Lacing Solution is a must-have for any parent or caregiver looking to simplify a child's daily routine and promote self-sufficiency. It's a small but significant change that can make a world of difference.
