Gum. Itโs been around for centuriesโfrom the ancient Greeks to the American Indians, everyoneโs chewed it. But the best kind of gumโbubble gum!โwasnโt invented until 1928, when an enterprising young accountant at Fleer Gum and Candy used his spare time to experiment with different recipes. Bubble-blowing kids everywhere will be delighted with Megan McCarthyโs entertaining pictures and engaging fun facts as they learn the history behind the pink perfection of Dubble Bubble. Review: A super-duper fun read for those just moving into chapter books! - This book was a Christmas gift for our 7 year old grandson. Fun to read for Bubble Gum Day!
My kids loved this book! The pictures are beautiful and engaging. I used it originally for Bubble Gum Day, but I think I will be using it when we learn about innovators.

Interesting!
This book ties in nicely with The Gum Chewing Rattler. Students enjoy learning about the invention of bubblegum with this book. It is presented in short but to point way with great illustrations. At the end they discover even more facts about bubblegum throughout our world's history.

Good insightful reading but way too expensive
My daughter loved this book probably because she loves gum and now she knows how it came about. I paid for it and I am disappointed that it took her all of 10mins to finish reading the book.

Much fun!
I love the tone and visuals of the book. Its light-hearted and easy to read. I wish it could have listed the one key ingredient that Walter used to make his version of gum that worked: the most important one of them all. This book is a good, fun approach to non-fiction, nonetheless.
